I Will Be Back!

I have literally slowed down my entire world, allowing myself to slack in most aspects of life, not being in-touch, MIA for a little while (2 months), stepped back and to reflect, to chill, to runaway, to avoid, to align, to adjust, to adapt, to seek, to heal, and to move on...... Oh well, I can still crap so much, I guess my silliness still remain & I'm still myself ^_____^

Let's not discuss bout my disappearance, or rather what had happened to me. But you may take a wild guess :)

Can't digest this? It's okay, don't have to bother.

I'm still the happy CazzyCazz that giggles, smile and laugh.

Been traveling as well, literately dropped everything and ran away to chill.

Despite the downfall, i have been eating a lot!!

The Runaway CAT

I told myself repeatedly, I'm not gonna whine, not gonna whine, not gonna whine.... I guess it failed, as my mind couldn't perceive 'Dont wanna', but 'WHINE'

So here I am, landing myself in my long neglected CazzyLand, TO WHINE!! Hahahah, please excuse me for being nutty!

So, no excuses on why I abandon my inner world, which is cazzycazz.blogspot.com for such a long period of time..... Yes la, I MIA again & not too many people care la, except for some *waving waving & purring*

After my Taiwan trip, things gotten tough, bumpy, tiring, sickening, challenging, sad, lost, doubtful, risky and bla bla bla, coming from few aspects of life. But no worries, I'm still the same old bubbly me. I still laugh, I still smile, I still giggle like a fool, I still eat, I still sing in the bathroom, I still dance some silly moves when no one sees...... I could feel my unbeatable spirit is getting even stronger day by day, after being challenged & cornered from left right center for quite awhile..... Which is good in many ways, I see it that way at least....

Oh well, despite how strong I wanna be, I'm still a lil woman & I get tired as well. So, CazzyCazz bought a 1-way-ticket and running to HappyLand now!!

Loving my time alone, just love my 'me-time' so so so so much! I feel very peaceful staring out the window ^_^

I sincerely thank God I have any caring friends around, people that would always look out for me.... It's not my style to call people and to seek help.... Like WeeWee just pointed to me recently, made me realized that I'm the kind who would call to inform good friends on 'what had happened', rather than telling them 'what's happening now and asking for pointers' @_@ It took me 31 years to know myself!! It's not pride and ego issues here, I'm and open book to most people that I heart, I have no shame in telling and sharing :P

My kids that are always there for me and spending time with me...

Friends that who would always drag me out from my house,
never fail to call me should they didnt hear from me (maybe a week?), friends that would scold me from keeping things to myself....

So ok, I'm running away, the runaway cat bought a 1-way-ticket & going to HappyLand.

I'm going to a happy land, it's called Singapore. Cause in Singapore, I have my BFF Wendy, my baby bro & a good friend ^____^ These people make me happy, so off I go!

I Wanna Come Home

It's indeed a very pleasant trip until Maxis failed me (will explain later) and having to face too many uncertainties on my last 2 days in Taipei.

Weather here has been hell hot since we landed until 2 days ago when typhoon hit Taiwan very badly. Flights coming into Taiwan from Bangkok & Hong Kong are all cancelled today. Local news reported most domestic flights in Taiwan are being cancelled too :( We fear that we might not be able to catch our flight back to KL tonight at 11.35pm. Called to Air Asia this morning and was told that our flight is 'on schedule' (phewww)...... But again, typhoon is hitting Taipei today until Wednesday :( Meaning to say, we wont know until the very last minute before our departure.

The local news:

Weather forecast doesn't seem too promising & the outskirts are badly affected. Schools are being shutdown (even in Taipei), evacuation is taking place in some provinces, flights being cancelled, etc.

It was hot, bright & shine when we arrived just a week ago.

Getting a stable wifi connection in Taiwan can be really frustrating, it makes me realize Malaysia has so much more to offer & I couldn't help but to look at Malaysia very differently now.

I have to go on with my trip without Internet for days until I gave up & subscribed to Maxis Unlimited Data Roaming plan, at the cost of RM88 for 3 days. It taps on Taiwan Mobile network & I managed to be in touch with my family.

We visited many places, from night markets to gondola ride in Taipei.

We then left for Taichung from Taipei early in the morning (6.30am) by taking MRT & coach.

To Taichung from Taipei by bus at the cost of NT1200 only!! It's a 2 hours ride.

DEAD TIRED FROM SHOPPING!!

We then shop like mad women like there is no tomorrow.

*sweat* I had to top up for luggage weight!!

Oh well, I ended up buying 13 pairs of shoes!! Who wouldn't? Shoes are very cheap in Taichung, quality is surprisingly good!!

We then makan makan makan non-stop!! Weather is miserably HOT in Taiwan, shaved ice comes to rescue ^____^

Everything was going on smoothly & well until the typhoon attack & Maxis connection issue yesterday.

At the very critical moment (need to viber call my lawyer for housing issue & discussion), Maxis service is interrupted since yesterday 5pm. Dav helped called to Maxis to check & they informed that it's my sim card faulty. I couldn't tap on any local telco network since yesterday so I can't call out or receiving calls now.

NO SERVICE all the way from
Yesterday until now!!

Maxis claims that it's my sim card faulty, how can it be when I could detect Taiwan telcos??

It's impossible that this it is due to my sim card faulty.

I couldn't connect to any of those 3!!

Btw, at the end Maxis blamed it on Taiwan telcos, but WeeWee's Digi has no issue with roaming tapping on 中华 network :( Never mind it then, since the wifi came alive again this morning!

I am making a big fuss about the connectivity issue is because I needed the Unlimited Data Roaming plan badly for today. How can it be possible (a data plan) when Maxis is practically dead in Taiwan and I couldn't even make any phone calls or receiving calls?

I've been missing them so badly that I wanna come home tonight :(

I couldn't help but to wonder whether or not they miss me too?

I wanna go home & I'm gonna go home.

Going Away With My Coffee

It's so silly of me to have actually forgotten about my own holiday trip to Taiwan on tomorrow. If it wasn't for the reminder that my BFF sent me via whatsapp, i guess i might have completely forgotten about it!! @____@ I actually went ahead to confirm appointments with my clients & i gotta call them back to inform 'Oh i'm terribly sorry i gotta postpone our appointment, I FORGOT I'M GOING ON A TRIP!'

Oh well, life has been in a chaotic situation for the past 2 weeks, i was basically living life in confusion. One moment i am the role of this, then the next moment i have to switch role to that, then within seconds i have to be in another role!! Never mind with what i have just said, i know most of you don't know what the heck i was referring to :D In short, i have been completely stressed up, i feel weary & beaten up by work & life......

I almost regretted my trip when i was being informed of it, kinda wrong timing really! With the property transactions that are going on, paying all fees through my nose & almost emptying my pocket, then come the oversea trip?? I wasn't quite thrilled, as i really hate to go on a trip with a tight budget, as much as i hate window shopping :( Oh well, i didn't anticipate the property transactions at all when i booked for the trip, did i?

But come to think about it now, i really could use a good holiday to relax my soul & to keep myself sane!! Taiwan has a lot to offer, from sight seeing to shopping to food, etc. I guess this is going to make a fantastic trip and i am getting really excited now. I have only 1 concern, going away without my fav hot drinks!!! This morning i woke up to the last sachet of the most essential drink of my life, i thought to myself 'OH NO!!' How am i to survive my 8 days trip without..........

Can't survive without my Chek Hup 2-in-1 Ipoh White Coffee, can i???

The problem is, it's really hard to find Chek Hup Coffees here, it's not as common as Nescafe where it's available almost everywhere..... The nearest i could find is in Puchong Carrefour, but normally i'd tumpang WeeWee to buy for me near where she stays (Cheras).

With some luck, i managed to find it in SS2 and bought 4 packets at 1 go.

My housemate laughed at me so loud that he thinks that i am crazy!

He said 'You think Taiwan no coffee meh??'

The essentials

Passport, checked! Coffee, checked! Detox tea, checked! supplements, checked! Currency, checked!

My friend regarded me as 'kampung girl' in Facebook, and he thought it's funny of me to bring our local coffee aboard! LOL..... Why not?? Just in case i couldn't get a creamy, thick & rich coffee in Taiwan!

I hope the supply is enough for both me & WeeWee!

I didn't know Chek Hup has come out with the 2-in-1, i first tasted the 3-in-1 many years back in Ipoh (wasn't available in KL back then) and would normally buy back to stock up. I liked the 3-in-1, but i find it too sweet for my liking as i'm not a sweet tooth person. Until WeeWee introduced the 2-in-1 to me a few months back, then it's a no turning back! I LOVE IT!

I guess my trip with the girls can never go wrong,

especially having my silliest BFF WeeWee with me!!

It's gonna be a makan x100 trip, i hope i don't come back being a 'fei por' & fatso @_@

Gonna miss my life, my kids, my friends back home.....

A Walk Down Memory Lane

I have every reason to get 'allergy' to the word 'putting on weight'. I don't really give much attention to my appearance, especially putting on make-up (except for job duty & functions), dressing up, or to be consistent with my facial treatments. But i am ULTRA 'pantang' to the world 'You've put on weight'!!

I tolerate bad skins, wrinkles, bare face with uneven skin tones (don't really care), bad hair day, the 'pasar malam look' in slippers & my silly looking cartoon shorts, fading shirts, but i tolerate NO 'You've put on weight'!!

I have my reasons to it why i have such phobia, and feeling rather uncomfortable when people passing their compliments on how i slim i am now (NOT A SELF-PRAISE OK???????????) x 100

I was once a chubby chub chub with low self esteem & confident level that was so low that i had to walk with my head down! Not that i am vain ok? I was being called 'fatso fatso & fei mui' by my cousins until i started believing that i was an ugly fatso. YEAH COUSIN YOU RUINED MY TEENAGE & YOUNG ADULTHOOD!! LOL......

Most of my friends couldn't tolerate me when i started complaining bout putting on weight & going on diet. Oh well, please accept my 'sickness' in my head ok? As i am still seeing the old fatty Cazzy in my mind! Heheheheh........ (ya ya i know i know you guys go 'there she goes again, SO VAIN')

Why suddenly i blog about my vanity (though i deny i'm a Ms. Vain)? For no reason tonight, i opened my chest drawers which store all my junks. I was going through my junks, flipping through the items & got rather amazed with myself for the amount of rubbish i have accumulated over years. A small black cover note book caught my attention, a long forgotten scribbled recipe book with my messy handwriting on. Then i thought i had a bookmark in between the book, i pulled it out, only to find out it's an old picture taken ~~10 years~~ 11 years ago!! (still thought i am 30 this year @_@)

I starred at the picture for God knows how long, started to reminisce of what & where the picture reminded me of, and of course, seeing the old chubby CazzyCazz once again in my mind..... I frowned, then laughed at my own self, oh yeah i did have a great great time laughing at myself!! Hahahaha.....

I don't know why i am doing this to myself, but please laugh at me together with me ok?? *sweat*

I was only either 19 or 20-year-old when this picture was taken. This isn't the fattest point i got, when i returned home to Malaysia, i was weighing 68KG with a waistline that read '32 inches'!!
When my cousin bro picked me up at the airport, the moment he saw me he then burst out laughing & pinched me hard on my cheeks & said 'aiyoh sooooooooo fat & cute!!'

I was so upset after being teased by everyone, then i started my 'crazy diet' plan that has caused drastic weight lost shortly after my return. I managed to slash down my weight to 50KG within 3 months time & then everyone went on saying...........

'Michelle, you are looking so ugly now! You have a head that is so big & face that is so round but with a body like a stick.'

WTH? So hard to please myself & everyone!!! LOL....

But i gotta admit that i did end up looking like an alien with a big head sticking to a small body!

I had a great time walking down my memory lane earlier tonight, i guess i should execute my Europe trip soon, i miss the gloomy weathers and..... (memory lost), don't quite remember the small details or places i have been.

A Deal For The 4 Legged - Part 2

This post is supposed to be a post that is filled with emotions & deep thoughts, i wanted to blog it that way at least...... But right now my mind is operating on single core & battery that is running so low that i don't think i can put it out the way i intended to....

I am just dead tired, tired of mending so many things at once, running here and there, i feel i am falling all over the place right now. Maybe falling isn't the right word to describe, it's more like i am dropping pieces of me, like a Lego Cazzy, that i am losing myself piece by piece (what talk me again?? LOL!!) ...... Should i fall, i hope it's not falling flat on my face as i don't have a nice nose & the last thing i want is to make it even worst!!

I am now pushing my limits, i have a day time job to perform, and i have my life long career to nurture, yet i am still pushing myself further.... Not that i am aggressive or ambitious, it's really not by choice i swear..... I have a day job that i heart heart heart heart, then i have a life long career that requires my heart & soul, then just this evening, i took up the role as a property agent, helping my friend in his real estate agency, to sell properties of course.......

I ain't superwoman, i couldn't quite multitask, but i have to do what i had to do...... It's sad to acknowledge that my career will be occupying or rather consuming me up completely, soon to come. Sad it's because a lazy bum bum like me could never live an easy life, a lazy worm like myself could not afford the time to knit, to dance, to cook, to bake, to sing, to snap pictures, to this and that (gosh i feel really 'dead' already simply by imagining it)......... GOSH WHERE IS MY LIFE????????????? I am missing my life already....... Everything in this world has a price tag for it, be it road to success or to failure, it's depending on how much i am willing to deposit now & enjoy the returns later.....

Ok hopefully my 'later' won't be too far away, i have stated in my 'Personal Mission Document' (many years ago) that i'd retire at the age of 40. I am really looking forward to it as that is when my really 'fun' life begins! I have mentioned that i wanted to own a super bike at age 40 & to convoy joining the bikers club. Many of my friends laughed into my face *sulk*, saying that i'd never manage to lift the heavy bike. Ok fine, i'd buy a Vespa instead, it's still a bike!! Kekekekke..... Oh well, i have many other missions that i'd like to do and let's hope that it won't take me too long.

CAZZYCAZZ & KIDS ARE MOVING TO A NEW HOME IN ANOTHER FEW MONTHS TIME!!!!!!

I chose to break this news only now it's because i finally manage to sell off my current apartment :) I am not completely thrilled, or yet to be thrilled as i do heart my current humble small 'tofu' size apartment. I am very used to living in Subang Jaya, i have been staying here for almost 10 years by now. Knowing that i have to move away from the place i'm so used to or a place where i could even drive around with my eyes closed, it sadden me.....

What can i do? Property prices are rocket high & it's ridiculously expensive now! Even my own unit, i sold it off at a very good price as compared to the price i bought just 4 years ago. I can't afford a unit in USJ, a very rundown, old & tiny landed house is nothing less than RM400K @_@ Even if i could afford to buy, i would not have the surplus for reno & touch-up. Those houses are so so old that i guess a simple touch-up (piping, wiring, roof reinforcement, new paint, grills, auto gate, alarm system etc etc) would cost nothing less than RM60K :(

So my options left only the outskirts, where prices are not as high as Subang..... We are moving to Bukit Rimau in Shah Alam :) I had no luck with the landed houses in Bukit Rimau as most buyers are asking for prices that are way above the bank value. Since i won't be able to 90% housing loan, therefore i settled for a lower unit of townhouse, double the size of where i live right now......Oh well, though it's not a landed double-storey house, but at least i still have a 10 feet land at the back of the house for my kids, and it's still 'landed' :D

It has been years that i kept promising my adopted strays that i would work hard and to afford them a home.

Each time when i am tempted to stay in the comfort zone & not moving an inch, i thought of the cute faces that melt me.........

Finally i kept my promise to them and all i wish for is for them to be healthy, ~~wealthy~~ happy & safe.

I have also made up my mind that i can't have it all, therefore i intend to propose to my current company to consider my proposal of a 3-working-day idea with a pay cut. It's really sad to leave my current company as it feels like home to me by now. It's been 4 1/2 years since i am with this company, but i honestly can't handle & cope with my crazy life anymore.

I am to focus more on building my own career and doing some part-time property sales to finance the all of us until i'm ready for a bigger challenge in my own career. Thinking of my own future plan is enough to make me shake in my pants already, but i know the kids & God would show me the way & to give me the strength and blessings. A 3-working-day job, a life long demanding career & a part-time real estate job, I AM SO INSANE!!! It's good, it keeps me going, it keeps me from thinking all sort of nonsenses that sadden me, it keeps me young & alive ^_____________^

For the past 1 week i have been a 'Nutty Cazzy' as the process of selling & buying properties at the same time makes me NUTS!! The payments that i have to make, the lawyer fees, all documents, banks, paying all outstanding bills, finding out bank loan packages, liaising with all parties & working at the same time. OH DEAR I NEED A HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ops, lappie's batt is running flat & i left my charger in the office! Let's chat & chew again soon!!!!!

A Sexy Saturday Night

Saturday nights are one of those particular night that most people are looking forward to..... Many things would happen on this particular night.... Some would dance their night away, the singles would flirt their night away, some would be singing their night away,some would be drinking & clubbing their lives away, some would be romancing their nights away, some would be this, some would be that, and this and, and that......

Saturday nights used to be the night that i would be letting my hair loose, letting my spirit free..... Looking back, life is in such a contrast now..... But that doesn't make my Saturday nights less sexier or fun.......

I am now so domesticated that i find nothing beats home, my bed and my own sweet time alone...... Oh well, i wasn't too wild to begin with, but at least i used to put on my dancing shoes, skirts that are short and shirts that are tight and swaying sexily, swaying my night away.......

I still find myself being very sexy..... I am now listening to my all time favourite sexy sultry Jazz musics, wearing my lingerie, lying on my bed with only the dim table lamp on, staring at my Romeo & with a glass of red wine in my hand......... NOT!!

LOL, please don't tell me you guys actually fall for it?? Hahahhaa..... There ain't Romeo, there ain't red wine, but yes to both dim light & the sultry Jazz musics......

A love novel that i just finished reading, a very realistic story which i think many people would relate to it easily, especially those who are into a long term relationship.....

After allowing my imagination to run wild while reading the book, now it's time to come back to reality and forget about Romeo....

There isn't Romeo in reality, or there is?

I guess Dale Carnegie & Napolean Hill are more practical & realistic.....

Romeo is like a desert, that completes a meal, but Romeo isn't everything.

A Deal For The 4 Legged

When i took in my Nisha baby while still renting a room in Sunway, i looked into her eyes and said to her 'Baby, mummy is going to care and to love you until the day you die or i die.....'

It started off with Nisha (i had a few more cats before Nisha, but that was long time ago), then fate led me to Yaya & Coco as well...... We were living in a not very ideal environment, 2 human & 3 cats in a rented master bedroom. They were not allowed to get out of the room, as i didn't want them to mess up the whole house and upset the chief tenant.

It was out of love that i figured my way through in getting a small apartment for them, so they could live in a better environment & to have more space to run & stretch. I was really broke then when i bought my 1st property, in fact, i had no money for 1, but with luck, i managed it through with the help of the kind owner. I paid my 10% down payment only after signing my S&P and after my EPF withdrawal. It was purely luck or blessings from the kids that i managed to purchase our 1st home.

It was messy & i couldn't help but to frown when 1st stepped into the house for viewing....

I didn't have much choice nor cash, therefore i confirmed the deal right away after the viewing, with the help of the owner, allowing me to proceed without 10% of down payment....

I then turned our home into......

It was a long wait for the transaction to go through, though it's just a very small unit, but own home sweet home is anytime far better than a rented nest....

The nest that housed all of us for nearing 4 years by now......

To be honest, i couldn't have asked for more, all human and 4 cats are happily staying in this tiny house of ours.

In her eyes, the world is only 775sf big!!

Not too long after shifting in, we took in Ninja, Cheeky aka Kiki, my late Chubby Chubs.

Still, we find it okay sharing the space of 775sf together.

I thought we would stay in our cozy apartment for another few more years to come, but my idea started to shake when my adopted kids safety is at risk.

Yes you read/heard right, he said that right into my face and in front of my BFF WeeWee & her husband!

I understand if he doesn't like animals, but the choice of words that he used has caused me to boil to the max and pissed me off.

WHAT ON EARTH? ONLY WEAK & A COWARD WOULD HARM HELPLESS ANIMALS!

I said to him and asked him to go ahead to poison them all if he has no slight compassion in him for the animals. I told him i strongly believing in 'what comes around goes around.'

Guess what he said?

'THAT'S JUST YOUR OWN BELIEF'

*SWEAT*

But it's indeed a blessing in disguise, if it wasn't for him and another 2 ladies who hates animals, i wouldn't have made it.....

If it wasn't for them, i wouldn't have braved myself to commit...

They don't have proper bowl nor a place to eat. I used to provide them with eating bowls, guess what? Some neighbours will dispose them on purpose, i have lost too many and eventually gave up.

If it wasn't for my dearest blogger friend Blackie, i might take a longer time to get back to the blogging scene.... It's really not something new or surprising for CazzyCazz to MIA again, for some reasons even to no reasons, i can never be consistent with my blogging. LOL, what talk me again?

It's so kind of Blackie to have thought of me and regarded me as a person who epitomizes sunshine in their personalities, the brightness and cheerfulness (kembang already)..... This is an award originally from the writer, Ellen, the owner of Katz And Other Tales.

Okay, sunshine, i really do adore sunshine, especially cheerful and happy people..... Ironically, my Chinese name is somehow related to sunshine.....

I adore my own Chinese name (this is perasan, i know), though no one actually calls me in my Chinese name. My name is given to me by my late grandmother, whom i was very very very attached to.

She named me after 日虹(ri hong) as my Chinese name, 日is Sunshine, 虹 is a rainbow. Both sunshine & rainbow are bright and shine, it explains why i giggle and laugh like a silly a lot (trying to self-praise again)..... But this Chinese name of mine do explain why i am a lazy bum bum as well. If you read Chinese, and you separate out my last Chinese name (虹 / hong), it's actually 虫= worm, 工= work!!!!!!!!!
So, please do accept the fact that i am a lazy worm that it asked to work, and i have every right to be lazy as i am named to be lazy!! *sweat* What talk me again???????????

To Speak & To Stand Up For Justices - The 709

I told myself over and over again that i will put 709 behind and to resume to my CazzyCazz's routine and to move on. But the constant uploading of new clips, pictures and tweets from #BersihStories & YouTube keep stirring up the emotion within me and has brought me back to the scene, which is still very vividly remains in my memory.

The impact of the below new clip is so strong that after watching it, i couldn't help but to shed a tear for my country and the people.

I actually hesitated for 2 days whether or not i should blog about the most talk-about new history of 709 which took place on last Saturday. I don't want to portray the image that i am buying sides nor i am into politics, but i do hate dirty politics, though. I have not been very vocal about Malaysian politics, but that doesn't mean that i do not have political awareness.

I am still in a daze though it has been more than 48 hours after the incident, i am still suffering from stiff body & sore throat & eyes. But after watching that video, my emotion got stirred, the memories keep flashing back so vividly and i thought to myself, i should blog. If i could blog all my nonsenses with my rubbish and bimbotic talks and pictures, why can't i talk about the meaningful 709 and to express my thoughts and to be serious for once?

Walking our steps towards a better future for our country

I was feeling really heavy hearted on 08.07.2011 night, knowing that the rally would take place the following day. I found out 1 of my customer cum friend is going, he booked a hotel on Friday night and would prepare himself for the demonstration the next day. He told me some of the less privilege people will camp in KL town and sleeping by the roadsides. I was really moved, i stayed up to wee hour, reading all articles & comments on FB in Bersih Official 2.0 page and gotten really disturbed.

I felt useless, and helpless at the same time. Useless was because i knew many would attend and standing up for justice but myself? Helpless was because i had no one to go with and i was scared to go alone. It was almost 4am when i read of my friend's comment in FB, showing indication that he would take part and i quickly PM him (private message). Then we made plans but we weren't too sure whether we could make it there or not..... I thought to myself, it doesn't matter, as long as i tried.

What sparked up within me? It is this article by Raja Petra that i read here. I take it as a reverse psychology, and it did work didn't it?

I gotta make myself clear here. It's not politics that i am supporting nor siding any parties. In fact, Bersih isn't even an organisation, it's just an Ideology and Movement. Of course i am aware that despite the pure intention of this rally, it's however politically inclined, with the coalition opposition political parties. Some may even have their hidden agendas, but it's okay, because i wasn't voicing out for them, but for my own rights in this country. When Bersih again and again being pushed around and having their permit rejected, i know our rights have been ripped off, a simple right as to have a peaceful demonstration was not granted. A democratic country we are? Far behind, way far behind, as the actions of the Gov said it all. Constitutional right? Not in this country as far as i am concerned.

Bersih is fighting for the below 8 Points:

Bersih 2.0′s calls consist of 8 points. In summary, they are:
1. Clean the electoral roll
2. Reform postal ballot
3. Use of indelible ink
4. Minimum 21 days campaign period
5. Free and fair access to media
6. Strengthen public institutions
7. Stop corruption
8. Stop dirty politics

It's also something i wished for our country to practice for a cleaner and fairer future, our future & our children's future and theirs eventually. Some commented and asked me that what makes me think that the oppositions aren't corrupted and can ensure our future? I guess many has missed a point here, which i didn't bring myself to prove my point nor to argue with them. Of course i can't ensure anything, but our constitutional right is our weapon to protect ourselves from corrupted ruling parties. If this is what going to bring down the current ruling party, it can also go against the current opposition should they fail the Rakyat. Just 1 simply point as this, i braved myself up to take part in the 709 rally. I want my voices to be heard, i want justices and i love my country and the people. It's about time i do something good for myself and to contribute to our country. It's about time the Gov listens to us, hear our voices and stop robbing us broke. How could a country like Malaysia, which is blessed with abundances & all with the natural resources can be heavily in debts? Think for yourself and your future.......

Oh btw thanks to Datuk Ibrahim Ali too with his 'Chinese stay home' remark, because we Chinese have proven him wrong. Many Chinese took part too, i was really surprised to see. And there was no Malay, Chinese & Indian during the chaotic situation, only Malaysian that it was...... Hmm, did he go to the lake scrolling for hours??

I guess 'bloody idiot' is gonna be the official Bahasa Malaysia too, 'bladi ediot' in BM? We should follow the example set by the leader, go all out with the words 'BLOODY IDIOT', so STYLO....

It's only constitutional right that we are asking for, a clean & fair voting system, too much to ask for? You judge by yourself......

My Love for Patapon, PSP & Now It's Patapon 3

LOL, i guess most of you guys must be wondering whether have i gone nuts?? If you are a fan of Patapon, then the above chanting is no stranger to you.

Hoorayyyyyyyyyyy, PATAPON 3 is finally available in English version now!!! Ok i know this is not the latest news, but i have been waiting since last year and the last time i went to enquire was in Feb this year, was told 'still got to wait wor.....' I waited, then it just slipped away and i didn't check on it anymore until yesterday!!!

I am a big big fan of Patapon,

it was because of this super, ultra, extremely fun and cute game, i bought my Sony PSP.

I have been drooling over for a unit of PSP since many years ago, circumstances just wouldn't allow me to afford a luxury toy then. Oh yeah, it is considered a luxury toy to me back then as i was struggling to build my career and had to compromise a lot to make way for my financial and career life.

Each time when i visited my friend's shop (job duty), i guess my desire and yearning for a PSP showed and written all over my face. After 2 long years of hesitation, my friend finally got fed-up with me and told straight into my face 'Michelle, can you just get a unit? Don't ask me how much to pay, i will give you my cost price, and i will give you all accessories for free, you can pay me by installments with no time line, JUST TAKE A UNIT WILL YA? If not, take it as a gift from me, as your birthday gift'

I got so so touched, it was CK that make me believing in 'there are still good and genuine people in this world'.

Ok, you may judge that CK must have been a guy......Nope, it's a SHE, who has no bad intention nor expecting anything from me ok? LOL

Oh well, i turned down her offer, but she insisted.

So i paid her half of the cost and settled the rest of it the following month, and i become a proud owner of Sony PSP 3000.

Gosh it has been more than 2 years already?? Time flies with no mercy T____T

I got really hooked on Patapon, i played from Patapon 1, then Patapon 2 and now finally, gonna defect the bad guys in Patapon 3!!

Patapon is a rhythm game, controlling a tribe of Patapon (the cute weird looking fella) rhythmically calling for the attack actions to fight. One just gotta have good hearing and accurate rhythm count for this game! And the musics are all very hip yet cute!!

I enjoy playing Patapon games so much that i would be shaking my head, stepping my feet to count beat or even up to the extend of dancing to the musics!! hehe....

Keeping Us Close

It is funny how distance actually draw everyone of us closer, with the help of technology of course.

I left home more than 10 years ago, to venture life on my own as a lost cat and soul in the city of Kuala Lumpur. I managed ok, here i am, still surviving. Now comes the prime time of my baby bro, fate brought him to Singapore, and all over the world. My mom and dad, having both their children left home to build their own lives, they stayed back in our hometown, Penang.

We are now all over the places, though not very far apart, still within the same timezone, but we are seeing each of everyone lesser. Communication with baby bro gets harder as he is always traveling. I am having a hard time coping with his schedule and eventually lost track of his whereabouts.

I am glad that everyone made an effect in staying in touch, and staying close as 1 family should be..... There is a reason behind why baby bro bought his 1st smart phone, an iPhone and both dad and mom upgraded to Smart phones and struggled to handle it at the initial stage.

Now despite where we are and the distant apart, we are still staying close as ever, in fact, it's even closer now.....

This took place last night when my baby bro was in Korean, had his 1st ever Korean haircut by Korean chic, in a Korean hair salon.

I was at home preparing for my light dinner, baby bro FaceTime me while cutting his hair and enjoying every minute of his new exciting career. Life is such a contrast, isn't it??

I thought i just helped him with the diaper change not too long ago?? LOL

It's good to see my baby bro living a great life.

I am glad that he didn't follow my footstep, living a routine and robotic life.

Ayam Masak Kuning Recipe

I am still up and cooking, it's just that i am kinda lazy to post recipe posts as it involves photo editing and can be quite time consuming. Worst still, my camera smells garlic, ginger or perhaps turmeric resulting from cooking and snapping @_@

Tonight, i thought i should cook something to reward or perhaps to bribe the men at home. I was away for activities last weekend and have been really busy. But it took me by surprise when i came back to a sparkling clean home, from the dry yard to the living room to kitchen and toilet!

I mean c'mon, they are from MARS, the men at home i meant to say, getting them to perform house chores was often by FORCE. That i gotta show my sulking cat face, or with my silent protest, or even with my fierce cat hisses to get ~~bark~~ them to clean the house. I just don't understand why the aliens from Mars could live life in sucha mess? I mean i am not a very tidy person to begin with, but i have my limits. But the aliens at home? Sky is the limit i guess.....

Since they have been good and initiated the house cleaning, i am a pleased and happy cat and i wanted to reward them for their good job....... A dinner for the both of them it was and it's said that the best way to a man's heart is to his stomach?

Enough said and let's hit the wok now!

Ayam Masak Kuning

Very seldom i make 'lemak' dishes,

especially as a dinner dish but there are always exceptional case.

They thought they were in luck for some sinful 'santan' dish,

but too bad, i substitute the coconut milk with full cream milk instead.

Having a housemate who has pancreatitis with the super high cholesterol reading and also a diabetic at the same time, i just gotta be careful with what i put in when cooking.

It's my 'agak-agak' recipe again, no QC assurance ya!

Ingredients

Half chicken or 3 large chicken tights (chopped into pieces)

Some cooking oil

2 - 3 potatoes (skinned and cut into a few smaller pieces)

1-2 pieces tamarind skins / Assam Keping (i used only 1 piece)

3 Lemon grass (the bottom white part, smashed)

2 - 3 cups of coconut milk ( I used full cream milk instead)

1/2 -1 cup of water (optional)

Salt to taste

For blending or pounding the chili paste

4-5 red chillies (seeded and cut into smaller pieces for easy blend)

5 bird's eye chili

10 - 15 shallots (the more the better, peeled)

1 1/2 inch turmeric

1 tsp turmeric powder

Method:

1. Blend all above listed ingredients for chili paste in a blender or pound in a mortal until it turns into paste texture.

2. Heat up 4 tbsp of oil in wok and pour in the blended paste and lemon grass, stir-fry in medium heat until it's fragrant.

3. Add in potatoes and chicken and continue to stir-fry until chicken is almost cooked. Add in a some water gradually if it gets too dry.

4. Pour in coconut milk or full cream milk, tamarind skins and stir well. Let to simmer in medium low heat until potatoes are cooked. Add in some water to dilute the gravy texture if it gets too thick.

5. Some salt to taste and ready to serve.

It's creamy, rich and spicy with the nice fragrant of lemon grass.

The gravy is heavenly to go with rice.

I don't normally cook white rice at home nor i have a functional rice cooker,
i steamed my grains instead.

The grains i consume are millets & buckwheat,

especially i am now living with a diabetic at home.

Dinners at home are always simple,

a stir-fry choy sam and ayam masak kuning are enough to keep the 2 aliens happy.

I hope the aliens at home will be consistent with the house cleaning chores to keep me happy.

A happier Cazzy cooks a nicer meal, we shall see.

A Restless Soul

Ya i know the picture is upside down, did it on purpose anyway, just like my life, kinda upside down right now, in a way.......

I almost lost my inspiration to blog, or i should say, interest instead? I guess it happens to some bloggers sometimes, or not so? It's not a writer's block in my case, i have 1001 intended posts and pictures, but i just couldn't bring myself to blog....... My mind is all over the places, i have so many things i wanna do (the non-productive nor income generating), from cooking to baking to knitting to automobile to photography etc etc. Oh well, that's not the fact anyway, i am forever having the issue to be consistent with my blogging anyway :P

Not too long ago my baby bro asked me how did i cope with so many things at once? Ok again i stress, besides my day job and a life long term career, other stuff that i do are mainly my interests and hobbies. Oh well, we came out from the same factory, but somehow along the production line, there was QC defect. Baby bro being like mom, a relaxed soul with 'hibernation' mode on all the time, me on the other hand, as restless as dad, or far worst than him.

Then last night when i met up with a friend for a yam char session with a loaf of freshly baked milky bread for him and his wife, he asked the same question..... He asked "Michelle, you have 2 jobs, you are cooking, caring for your four legged kids, you are blogging, knitting, snapping pictures, getting your hands dirty with your hubby (my car), socializing with friends and clients, mending house chores & running errands, how did you cope?" Good question, it may be just a simple question, but it has a huge impact on me, which has got me thinking......... My answer to him was, I DON'T KNOW, i just managed it anyhow.......

But that's not true, i guess i am way too restless and mean to myself.... I never did allow myself to stop nor slowing down...... I couldn't just sit still and watch a movie, i just need to do something while watching a movie at home, maybe knitting or chopping vegetables, blogging, cleaning, etc.... His question has hit me hard, i come to admit that i over do it, too ambitious and have no mercy on myself and could just breakdown at anytime...... I guess it's a sickness, a mental one maybe? LOL......

I guess i really do need to learn to relax, just like my couch potato at home, no wonder his is growing side ways and all ways and i am losing weight...... My restlessness or ambitions has caused me to have sleepless nights or developing insomnia in a way..... I have trouble sleeping since the end of last year, friends that know me well knows that i just love to sleep, and never did have problem sleeping before.....

What have i been up to lately?

Just too many things, but something new is, i am getting my hands on this....

Hokkaido Milky Loaf,

recipe adapted from here.

I do bake a little, mostly cakes and cookies, but never tried making breads before.

Stumbled upon Yin's homemade and drooled, then adapted her recipes.

Tried the normal bread making and her highly recommended TangZhong (water roux method) bread making, indeed TangZhong method it's far better than the conventional way of making bread!

The breads are like soft buns with water roux method and good to eat on its own!

Then i have been busy with....

After the decat, hubby has been really good and responsive.

Unfortunately, he also suffered some wear and tear parts due to negligence and abuse from previous owner. The previous owner used a 100w headlights on him without a proper electrical relays installed and has caused.....

Burnt and tossed.

Oh btw, i got a shock when i discovered that the previous owner never did change the gearbox oil for solid 4 years!!!

WTH?

Caused me so much trouble for locating the recommended shop for electrical fix in Jalan Loke Yew and also $$$$$$.

3 days after i spent xxxx amount on exhaust system/decat, i received this due to the stupid 100w light bulbs that the previous owner installed without relays.

*ended up paying RM430 for all*

And now, the engine mountings have to be changed, need to replace with new set and gonna cost me lots of $$$$ too!!!

*SWEATING BIG TIME*

Then last Sunday i got a police saman for the 1st time in my life, for having an expired roadtax

*SOBBING BIG TIME*

I forgot my roadtax & insurance expiring at different dates!!!

I had to run here and there to get my car insurance extended and to renew the roadtax for 6 months to consolidate both to the same date.

Ah, enough of whining, my list goes on but i shall stop here, it interests no one anyway.

I should adapt this from my Tomei boy......

A Gifted Week

I guess somehow God thinks that i do deserve a little pampering from family and friends..... I have had a great weekend back home in Penang with my family, baby bro came back from Singapore for his 6 days break. I took the opportunity to go back to be with them and also to get some 'stress therapy'.

I didn't except to come back with so many...........

A very fruitful trip from Penang

Mom came back from her Europe trip with many bottles of spices for me!

She knows i love to cook and these make fantastic gifts for me.

I have been considering buying a new handbag for myself since last year, now i don't have to crack my head and empty pocket anymore!!

Very generous of mom to give me her new handbag, brought back by my Auntie all the way from US, I LOVE IT! She also bought me 2 pairs of shoes during my weekend stay back home in Penang....

Hubby is Up & Running Again

PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
Improve low-mid power for pick-up, being responsive with better fuel consumption.

When i was on the lookout for an additional car (used car) last July, many people have given their kind opinions and suggestions on the car selections. I would say most recommended good cars like Perodua or Proton, good as in better market resell value, better fuel consumption performance, lower maintenance cost & cheaper spare parts, etc.......

I have other things in mind, i do not gauge a good car by just fuel consumption itself, i do take comfort, good car handling, performance into consideration as well. I have always liked small cars, especially hatchback cars, and i thought i would give Hyundai Getz a go.

As expected, many people and friends have objected, mainly it's because Hyundai cars, if not, Korean cars, that are known to be rather bad in fuel consumption performance. I have had a very bad experience with my 1st very own new car, a Hyundai Atos 1.0 (A), which i sold it off after 3 years of ownership.

But i also read of Hyundai Getz are highly rated in Euro NCAP, with 4-star rating, with the overall car handling and performance reported to be quite impressive. I knew what i wanted, i wanted more than just good FC alone, i also wanted comfort and a more solid car to cruise.

After i made up my mind, i took up the challenge, challenge as in 'proving' & improving the FC performance and nursing my 'sick hubby' back to health. I am not really into automotive, but i have many friends who are into car enhancement, so i have people who would help me out in this area. Dav being away from home and busy most of the time, i've made a point to learn up a bit or two about caring for cars rather than relying on him all the time.

When i 1st got my hubby, he was far from being ideal in terms of performance. I learned up as much as i could from friends (car club kakis) and forum and got my own hands dirty. I purchased most of the performance parts from forum (plug & play type), replaced all parts i could possibly think of...... He got better, but still, under performed and FC gotten from bad to worse after awhile.....

Rusted & Broken Entirely!!

It didn't take long for us to diagnose the problem, my hubby had a failed & broken respiratory system (exhaust system). His lung was rusted and broken with holes all over!! No wonder he didn't response well to all my tender loving care!!! So a new set of exhaust is a must, but i gotten a little ambitious with it, i wanted to enhance him and push him to his limits. So a decat, a new air flow system is required instead of replacing just a new stock exhaust system. It has been a long wait as my friend/sifu has been fully booked, 10 months that both hubby and i suffered through many dragging journeys together.......

Another friend named Stig (in white), did the decat on the same day too.

Finally, it took place on 26/05/2011 and it was an exciting day, a very very long waited day.......

Severely damaged.

While waiting for this decat to take place, i had to temporary replace the broken part by welding a small replacement part on it for a short term solution (i did it twice!!)

It's like a stage 4 cancer, far beyond repair.

So, what do i expect out of my hubby?

I don't need it to speed like a race car & sounding like a sport car.

In fact, i don't even need the high end power, i only want low & mid power with good pick-up & better FC.

Please don't judge me by the outlook of my hubby, it may look tough and boyish from the outside, but if you really look into the car, you will find all sort of soft toys with colourful deco, just like any other girls would like their car to be......

With this, now my hubby is up and running again.....

We are now a happy couple and i really have nothing much to complain about him!!

The last FC reported by Dav (i'm now in Penang) recorded 420KM,

before the decat, it merely fetched only 340KM.

I am going to start a proper recording on FC with various brand of petrol to test out.

I still need to run-in my hubby a little more for him to learn and getting use to his new 'lung' and the breathing system, the ultimate performance will only unleash after the learning process....

My objective is met, my hubby is now....

Small Gift, Big Meaning.........

The moment i failed to locate it in my handbag, i went panic & felt myself trembling a little. I couldn't believe my eyes, it wasn't there anymore! I searched my whole handbag again, then took everything out from the bag, opening up all compartments and zips, digging everything out and emptied my handbag, it wasn't there anymore....... I didn't want to believe my eyes, i searched through all items taken out from my bag over again and again, then to realize, indeed, it was lost. I searched my laptop bag, my office desk, my house, to no avail..... I ran to my car, i searched through it carefully, then Dav's car, over again and again...... 1 word.... LOST.....

I was very closed to tears, i hated myself for my carelessness and couldn't believe myself for losing something that meant a lot to me. I have had it for quite awhile, knowing myself that i have the tendency to lose my stuff, i always make sure it's safely kept in my handbag, and always having it with me to go for all appointments and meeting....... Though it cost Dav only RM68, but it has bigger meaning than just RM68.......

I lost the Swarovski Crystalline Ballpoint Pen which he bought for me.......

There is a story behind this little gift....

It must have been at least 2 years ago when i saw this pen on Air Asia catalog while traveling by air. Things that blinks would normally catch my eyes, though not all the time i will purchase super shinny blinking stuff, but i do adore them. I showed the interest of purchasing 1, but unfortunately it was out of stock. Dav saw the disappointment on my face, but he kept quiet and it didn't take long for me to forget and move on.

Dav travels a lot for the past years, Air Asia, MAS, Emirates, even some small airlines for domestic flights within Asian countries like Cebu Airlines, etc. I didn't know he actually kept it in mind to get the pen for me. But this item is a real hot item on all Air Asia flights, it's always OUT OF STOCK, OUT OF STOCK, OUT OF STOCK.......

Somewhere in last year, when he have had enough for not able to purchase on flight, he actually approached an Air Asia Cabin Crew. He walked to her, introduced himself and handed her his name card, getting his message across by asking a favour from her. He told her he would appreciate if she could help to buy the pen on behalf of him and contact him when it's available, and he will then pay her back. *I think it's really a crazy idea!!*

He waited and waited for months, no news from the Cabin Crew..... I didn't know of all this until he decided to tell me 2-3 months later. When i found out, i got really really really and extremely TOUCHED!! Then to laugh at him by telling him that she would not call!! Logically is he might have given the wrong impression to the cabin crew, something like a pick-up line to 'buaya'!!!

I was so wrong....... 1 fine day, he came back excitedly with my Swarovski Crystalline Ballpoint Pen, THE ONE THAT I WANTED LONG LONG TIME AGO!! My jaw dropped, it was in the office when he presented it to me, i jumped with joy and hopping up and down in the office, screaming out of joy like a lunatic. I could never forget this special feeling, and the satisfaction look on his face..... All my colleagues laughed at me, including my boss...... Yes, the kind cabin crew did remember him and helped him to purchase on behalf.

Yes, it was just a pen that worth RM68 at that time, it wasn't a Mont Blanc, but it was his effort & much trouble he went through in getting me the pen, got me so touched, in a way, melted at the same time..... Oh btw, i ain't a fan of Mont Blanc pen, it's overrated and not my style......

Now, the shitty me, LOST THE PEN two months ago!!! I dare not tell it to him as i didn't want to disappoint him, with the hope that my pen would appear out of nowhere someday. I then realized it will not happen, after 2 long months of searching and waiting..... Feeling like a criminal who has committed a terrible crime, perhaps a murder or catnapped, i confessed to him, felt terribly bad, and missing my pen 'too much'.......

Dav being Dav, he has always been gentle & kind with me, no scolding nor hard feelings, but with only words of comfort..... He feels as bad for me as he knew i really loved that pen to death, if only he knew why i loved it so much? He even helped me to search both cars again, but nowhere to be found..... So in my mind, i thought as it a closed file and case, i shall just forget about it. I know i can easily buy it off the retail shop in KL, but it's never gonna be the same if you understand how i feel......

Last week, after returning home from his 1 week Indonesia to trip, in less than 48 hours, he took off again to Philippines for a 4 days trip by Cebu Airlines.......

I sent him off to the airport, and he whatsapp-ed me the following day from Philippines........

DAV GOT ME ANOTHER 1!!!!!!!

It's WHITE in colour this time round.

I was so overwhelmed with joy but at the same time i felt really bad......
He shouldn't have spent too much, especially he has to prioritize his spending at this crucial period......

I received this on last Saturday morning, i didn't want to open it immediately.

I kept it in my handbag, it remains unboxed (so unlikely me),

not wanting to open it forever so that i won't lose it ever again!

Almost 3 days, i finally decided to unbox and to use, else it will defeat the purpose of Dav buying it.

I'm still missing my old one in black, but this is also from Dav, so the big meaning remains the same, though a different pen in different colour

It really is a good ballpoint pen, i have used Mont Blanc before, i love this WAY better!!

Most importantly, it's Dav's effort and his love for me.....

He isn't the type of person with sweet words or with romantic ideas or gestures most of the time

but he is the type with assurance and tolerance towards me .

Acar Fish Recipe

The moment he boarded the plane on last Saturday, something 'fishy' had happened at home...... He has been traveling too frequently, after Prague, it was Brunei, then now Indonesia for 1 week, coming back to KL on this coming Saturday and will fly off again in less than 2 days time, to Philippines.

In a good way, it allows me to get 'fishy', which i don't normally do when he is around. Oh well, he dislike fish dishes, what to do? I imediately loaded my freezer with sooooo many kinds of fishes and fillets, and been cooking from Asam Pedas to steamed fish today and also the Nyonya Acar Fish.

Being brought up in Penang, i am very used to eating Nyonya dishes, which i truly love. Acar Fish is commonly found in Penang, at the market or 'charp fan' stalls. But in KL, it's kinda tough, though. I love most of the Nyonya dishes, from otak-otak to Perut Ikan, Acar Fish, etc.

Unfortunately, Nyonya food are not really that common in KL. It's mostly available at the restaurants, which can be quite pricey. There are times i wake up craving for authentic Nyonya food, therefore i took up the trouble learning up the dishes that i heart.

I cooked Nyonya Perut Ikan a couple of months ago, gotten all the ingredients from Penang when mom visited me in KL.

*never seen the salted Perut Ikan in bottle being sold in KL or the wet market before, so i got mom to buy for me from Penang*

It's a recipe from 'grandmother to mother to daughter'

I didn't post up the recipe as it involves too many pictures and i am soooooo lazy to have edit all :D Perhaps when i am free ^____^

As most people know, to prepare this dish, it's really time consuming and all cutting and chopping are CRAZY!!

Then i cooked Asam Pedas last week when he was away.

*will post up the recipe the next time round when i cook again by using stingray*

Oh, i have also attempted Braised Five-Spice Fish few days ago.

The Braised Five-Spice Fish,

very surprisingly he loves this fish dish.

And for tonight's dinner, i had......

Steamed fish in soy sauce with sliced mushroom.

A simple yet delicious dish, perfect for a late dinner meal!

*oh well, don't think there is a need to post this recipe as steaming fish is relatively easy*

After my steamed fish meal, i went back into the kitchen and to prepare for my tomorrow's lunch.

I cooked Nyonya Acar Fish

The Nyonya Acar Fish

It's very appetizing, it's sweet and sour with a hint of spiciness.

When i was young, i didn't know what's the name for this dish and i always requested for my mom to cook or to buy me the 'florescent coloured fish dish' from the market.

It's indeed florescent in colour from the Turmeric.

This is one of my 'agak-agak' recipe, and i hope you guys will like it.

Let's get cooking now!

Ingredients:

350g mackerel or mullet or ma yao fish (Ikan Kurau)

1 bulb big garlic (finely shredded)

100g young ginger (finely shredded into matchstick strips)

40g gram fresh turmeric or at the size of 5-6cm (thinly shredded)

4 red chillies (seeded and shred into strips)

3 bird's eye chilies or Chili Padi (lightly smashed)

200ml Chinese Rice Wine (rice vinegar)

6-8 tbsp sugar

2 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp salt

4 tbsp cooking oil

Oil for frying fish

Method:

(The Fish)

- Rub 1tsp of salt on fish, follow by turmeric powder and marinate for an hour if time permits.

- Heat enough oil in pan/wok in high heat and shallow fry the fish until it's crispy and brown. (make sure the oil is hot enough).

- set aside

(The sauce)

- using another pan or a clean pan/wok, heat 4 tbsp of oil and add in fresh turmeric and stir-fry until oil turns yellowish and fragrant. Discard the turmeric.

- using the same oil, add in shredded ginger and shredded garlic, continue to stir-fry for 2-3mins in medium heat until it's fragrant and transfer it to a bowl and set aside. You may dispose half of the oil if you want it less oily.

- using the same pan/wok, add in rice vinegar, all chilies, sugar and some salt to taste under medium heat until it's bubbling and remove heat.

- pour the sauce into the ginger and garlic and mix well, pour it on the fried fish and to set aside for at least 4 hours or overnight for even greater taste.

To note: If you find the rice vinegar is too strong and chocking, add in some water to dilute it.

Bring the sauce to boil and add in the fried ginger, garlic & sugar. Remove from heat, mix well and pour it on the fish.

A dish that reminds me of my hometown......

Acar Fish goes really well with rice, it's kinda hard to watch my waistline when eating this dish as i will normally end up eating 2 bowls of rice all the time.

I have packed it into my lunchbox and leaving it overnight at the room temperature.

I can't wait for my lunchtime to come, it's gonna be a lovely lunchbox meal for tomorrow.
(The colour will turn even more florescent yellow the next day, beautiful!)

Friends That Are Helpful & Staying True

2 weeks ago when i had the girls to come over to my place for a little gathering, i have been getting some regular visitors since then. Last weekend was indeed really happening & completely occupied.

My most fearful period of each year is when income tax submission is nearing. Not just about the contribution part, but the 'STICKING' task that i have to complete and to handover all documents to my accountant.

It has been years that i suffered the 'sticking' task by myself, i would normally do it at the last min, crushing myself and sobbing at the same time while suffering through the entire process.

Sorting out all receipts accordingly is indeed the biggest pain of the year......I can't blame anyone but myself, as i am forever messy with my file keeping, receipts all over the house and offices. Having to sort it out by category, by month, and to calculate all business expenses 1 by 1, is really no joke.

But i am really grateful that i have helpful friends, friends that would come all the way to help. God didn't give me too many things or an easy life, but he has blessed me by having good people around me all the time.

When the 1st arrangement didn't take place (ended up having a long party at my place instead of clearing the 'sticking' job with me), 2 of my friends didn't hesitate at all and came over to my place again to help on last Saturday.

My colleague cum friend, Veron, excitedly volunteered to help, with only 1 request, that i would make her a cheesecake (again?? She just couldn't get enough of Cheesecakes!!) in return. My client turned friend Pauline, volunteered very willingly to help as well.... It's how amazing that my friendship with Pauline has developed over business, that i met up with her few years ago when my God brother referred her to me for insurance. From there, from client cum acquaintance turned close friend.

Both the girls came by 12pm.

While they were helping me out, i was in the kitchen preparing our meal.

*I made JapChae again & Tom Yam soup for them*

It's really not an easy task as my receipts are all mixed up.

But the girls insisted in helping me to get the task done!!

It started from 12pm and ended at 10.30pm

My business expenditure has doubled up as compared to last year, meaning more receipts.

Imagine if i were to do this on my own???????

NIGHTMARE!!

Veron had to rush back for an appointment, and i then joined Pauline after i was done with all cooking and cleaning in the kitchen. Then Pauline requested me to teach her to make a non-baked cheesecake, so we proceeded to my tiny kitchen and had a little fun making our Chocolate Orea Cheesecake.

Sunday i had 2 visitors too. Veron visited me again, just to hang out at my place and i cooked our lunch and laming around in the hot hot hot living room. Later in the evening another GF showed up in front of my door for a surprise visit after she failed to contact me on the phone (i left it in my room). We then went out together for dinner and a little catch-up at my place until midnight. (too hot to cook!)

The weather has been unbearable lately, it's soooooooooo hot!!

Since i am having regular visitors from now on, i am really considering on installing an aircon for the living room. The girls were hot and sticky while helping me out with the 'sticking' job.

I couldn't have thanked them enough for their help and i got really touched.

Don't think i am capable or good enough to express my gratitude in words.

I just wanna say.......

Friendship, is what i wanna nurture more from now on.

An Unhappy Cat At Home

When there is an unhappy furkid at home, there is an unhappy cat mama a.k.a Cazzy at home. Everyone and every cats at home are currently under stress and getting really restless for the past few days.

My Ginger baby is home after almost 2 long years of being catnapped away from us. Dav's parents went to Bangkok for a long break as Auntie Sara has not been back to her family for almost 10 years by now. They bought a 1-way-ticket, and no one knows for how long or when that they will be back. Very humorously Uncle James said 'When our money is all spent up, then that is when we will be coming home.' LOL.....

We decided to bring our baby girl to our home, rather than having to go back and forth both houses to feed my girl.

As expected, she didn't come home a happy cat. Not being a friendly cat to begin with, she is having a hard time coping her so-called new environment all over again, together with her long forgotten family and siblings.

Lots of hissing and fights have been going on and i have to put her in Coco's cage for time being to prevent any unwanted or unnecessary injuries.

She is not coping well at home, that has caused every cat and everyone at home to be rather restless. Especially my timid Coco has been hiding in our cabinet for days by now and refused to come out.

I don't really blame Ginger, she has never been caged before and being a loner throughout her cat life, it's not something easy for her to cope with. My rescued kitten ChokDee, you can read about him here, has been staying with Ginger for 2 long months and still Ginger refused him. At the end, i had to give ChokDee away for adoption. He is now with a friend of mine, living only the best cat lifestyle and a happy monkey cat he is now.

After being in the cage for 3 long days,

she finally discovered that the only way to get out is to tone down and stop hissing at her siblings.

It's only when it's under my supervision that she gets to come out for a little workout to trim her tummy.

*as i am blogging this, Coco just screamed her lungs out for help from the room, a fight scene has started!!*

She is the fattest and heaviest among all.

It's funny how nothing that is under my care would grow fat (except for Dav).

My kids are all lean and fit, none one of them are fat.

My BFF WeeWee was jokingly teasing me saying that my kids are all

'as vain as their mother'.

LOL...

But the contrast is, everything or everyone that goes under Auntie Sara's care, SURE TO GROW FAT!

Including my Ginger babe, Uncle James and Dav!

When she was staying next to our unit 1 year ago and insisted on cooking for us, i grew fat!!

When she moved further away from us and we stopped eating at her place for dinner,

i lost 6-7kgs in total!

We are all stressed up at home right now.

I have decided to bring her back to her granny's house over the weekend.

I could use a little peace at home and poor Coco the timid can at least relax a little and stop confining herself in my cabinet.

But then again, the hissing and fights will start to take place all over again when i bring her back on next Monday.

Should i? Should i not?

Braised Five-Spice Fish

Being a working class, but getting way too ambitious with life, often put me under tremendous stress, as having to juggle between too many things at once is simply no joke.

Oh well, i am not very ambitious when talking about career, but with my own interests and hobbies, YES! Cooking is one of them, and since my CazzyCazz's kitchen is being revived back to life, i have been trying to cook as often as i can.

The moment i stopped cooking at my own home (when Dav's parents shifted down to KL), my home didn't feel that 'homely' anymore. It felt more like a house, then home.

After CazzyCazz's Kitchen has been closed for more than 1 1/2 years, i am getting really sick of eating out, and i am determined to revert back to my healthier diet, that is coming from my own very small, but functional kitchen.

But rushing home from work or cooking after work can be quite tiring, not forgetting the washing part as well? Furthermore there are times i work until really late (night appointments), then sleeping late (insomnia), then having to work, cook, cleaning, aren't fun.

*ok enough of ranting*

But cooking itself has another set of challenge, living with 2 carnivores, and Dav not liking fish dishes very much is kinda tough for me to think of a fish dish that suits all.

I love vegetables and steamed fish to bits, he eats only deep fried (deep fried is on my 'to avoid' list) fish or preferably no fish at all, see the challenges here? But i am glad that i finally found a fish dish that he would eat, though not a steamed dish, with a little frying involves, but at least i still get to eat fish dishes at home. I just gotta compromise a little here, as long as we eat happily in our own home, why not?

It's like a Hawker's Single Platter 大排档 1-dish meal,
where we get to order from coffee shop or restaurant.

Adapted from this magazine.

Let's get cooking, shall we?

Ingredients:

500g carp fish (cut into pieces) - i used dory fish instead

1 stalk spring onion (cut into sections)

3 slices of ginger

1 red chili (slices)

30g carrot (cut into floral-shapes)

For braising (mixed together)

1/2 tsp five spice powder

2 tbsp sugar

2 tbsp soy sauce (i will recommend to go for 1 1/2tbsp if you are using the proper measuring spoon)

1/4 tsp pepper

300ml water

Seasoning:

1 tsp Chinese Cooking Wine

For coating:

Some tapioca flour

For garnishing:

Some ginger (shredded)

Some spring onions (diced)

Method:

1. Dab fish with some tapioca flour, deep-fry fish, skin side up over medium heat till dry. Remove fish, set aside.

2. Leave a little oil in wok, saute ginger, chili and spring onions, add in ingredients for braising, bring it to boil.

3. Add in fish, cover and braise over low heat for 5 minutes. Add in carrots braise for another 5 minutes till gravy has dry up. Add in seasoning, mix well. Dish up and garnish.

Deep-fry until it's golden brown.

As much as i want to skip this step, but i know it's the only way in holding up the fish in shape when braise.

Just mix all ingredients for braising and pour it in and bring to boil.

It's really simple and easy, just braise until the gravy has thicken up or almost dried.

Do not forget the Chinese cooking wine nearing the end of cooking.

Garnish it with diced spring onions and sliced ginger and good to serve.

The sticky gravy is so heavenly,

a bowl of rice to go with this dish makes a perfect simple dinner at home.

Dav loves the gravy a lot, this is the 1st time i ever see him enjoying a fish dish.

And so now i know, no fried fish for me & no steamed fish for him?

Then it gotta be a braised fish dish to keep everyone happy.

I guess not, as it's only noticeable from the back, and i touched up my hair colour too.

My Day with The Ladies at My Place

What will happen when you put all the 'single & available' ladies under 1 roof? Especially those who 'ain't' that young, naive and innocent?

Well, it's gotta be a lot of bitching about men, career, life, shopping, men and men & anything we could possibly think of...

Can you imagine an apartment at the size of 772sf only, is to house 8 person & 5 cats for lunch & dinner??

A kitchen that is so small, is to cook 2 meals, 2 rounds of desserts, numerous time of coffee, iced honey lemon, green tea, plain water, hot water requests? It was a havoc really, when my house was being ransacked by the 2 legged friends on the very special day, 1st May 2011.

I seriously couldn't recall when was the last time we ever had a house party or small gathering over at my place with close friends. I think the last time was here, back in 2008 @_@

It wasn't a planned event, it was over a very short notice and it just took place the next day. It all started when Veron asked me where would i be going or doing on Sunday and i told her i'd be at home rushing my income tax with the 'sticking' job (to stick all my receipts from Jan-Dec).

She got really excited and told me she would come by to help me. Then another girlfriend of mine, Pauline, she called and asked me the same question and then offered to help me out as well. And so i thought it's only right if i make them lunch in exchange for their 'free labour' (it didn't take place at the end, i mean the sticking job) :D

Then i also thought of both my BFFs, and since Wendy was back to KL and i called WeeWee & Wendy to come by as well. Then another GF (Joan) that i long wanted to introduce her to Pauline, and i invited her as well.

In short, at the end, we have 8 people in the house (Wendy couldn't make it at the very last minute). I got a little panic as i didn't really expect so many people and i have very little to cook in the fridge. I thought maybe just a braised pork and soup will do. I prepared the dishes the night before as i knew i wouldn't wake up on time to cook in the morning. Then after cooking, then the adrenaline rush kicked in and being a restless soul, i started to turn my kitchen upside down by re-organizing it until 6am @_@

Both of them came a little earlier as expected and went complaining non-stop of being hungry while i was heating up the dishes in the kitchen, so i stuffed them shut with my non-baked Oreo Cheesecake.

Veron loves it so much that she ate more than 4 SLICES @_@ & Pauline had 2.

Though i tried to make a 'kurang manis' version, but it's still too sweet for my liking and i couldn't even finish a slice!

(i don't have sweet tooth actually and not a fan of desserts)

But both the sweet tooth claim that it's isn't too sweet and just right @_@

This is when the real fun starts!!

(the something IMPORTANT is the Mahjong set)

Most of the girls know how to play mahjong, except for me and Veron.

My housemate and his friend Eddie then joined in and played with as well later in the afternoon.

The couldn't quite figure out which one to take out from the 4-player mahjong to cater for 3-player.

It took the girls several calls, and almost 30mins to sort out the Mahjong!!!

Hahahaha, i thought they are pros?

Sorted out and they are ready to 'pong pong pong', 'kong kong kong', 'sek we', etc.

Finally Joan, the late comer has arrived and they started to rock-n-roll at my place.

Most of the girls have not met each other before, but it didn't take too long for them to warm up and talking like good old friends and bitch.

*for a moment, it felt very much like CNY!*

While they are busy gambling their time away, i get........

'got anything to drink ah?', 'got green tea ah? Hot 1 please?', 'got coffee ah?', 'got ices ah?', 'still have cheesecakes ah?', 'still have rice ah?', etc....

The men know it's best to eat and shut up and not to offend any ladies in the house as they are outnumbered!! On top of that, we are ladies with sharp tongues! LOL

My silly and helpful colleague cum friend got bored and helped me to clean my dirty dusty table top fan! LOL

All jolly, with only laughter, cracking jokes, bitching about life, career, men and men & men and men.

By the way, we are all single and available ladies in the house.

So dinner was ON and at the time of crisis (minimal food and ingredients available for 8 people), WeeWee being a very creative cook at home, she shared with me 1 of her secret recipe.

Thanks God WeeWee helped out in the kitchen for dinner, i was dead tired by then, but i really did enjoy myself throughout the whole event.

We managed the dinner together at the end.

The party ended at 11pm.

If it wasn't because of Joan had to rush for another appointment,

i believe the party will go on until wee hours.

It was indeed a very fun event with the girls,

okay lah must give face to the guys too.

It has been so long ago since my house is filled with so much joy, laughter, the 2 legged creatures, and with friends that i adore.

We will definitely do more of this again and we are going to take turn to host the event.

WeeWee suggested we should potluck instead and i think that's a great idea.

Though i was cooking and cleaning throughout the whole day,
but i really didn't mind a little and was really enjoying having my dear friends around.

With A Diabetic At Home

My housemate came back being a diabetic after his hospital discharge, that makes my cooking life really challenging. Oh well, he is in the midst of adjusting to his new lifestyle and on a very strict diet, there are a long list of the NOs. As a god-sis, i could only give him encouragement and moral support, glad that he finally accepted my introduction to the organic vegetarian shop i have been eating out for years. Oh well, you guys have no idea how much he loves MEAT, especially the red meat and seafood.

He doesn't eat with us all the time whenever i cook, only occasionally. But i can't bring myself to tempt him with all the forbidden food coming from my own kitchen, can i? So i guess it's best i cook only when he is not around or back to the hometown :(

Anyway, a little confession here..... I have a serious caffeine addiction problem here, and the worst of the worst is, it's the canned drinks i am talking about, it all started somewhere in 2007 until today, here.

So, it's sweetened with preservative which spell only 1 word, BAD. My housemate came back with a Glucose Meter, which he has to perform his glucose check every morning and to record down on his 'report card' and to report to his doctor when the consultation is due.

He insisted that i should check on my glucose since i have been drinking all the bad stuff, ok, only Nescafe ok? I don't drink all the carbonated drinks nor any packet drinks, just the Nescafe and i swear.

but the needles and strips are kinda costly.

But it's still far much better than having to inject insulin on the daily basis, isn't it?

Saw my late Uncle did that, and it ain't fun nor cheap!

I gotten really nervous, but it wasn't that bad, really.

Just me being a little 'chicken' here :D

At the end, it took 2 attempts to get the reading done,

meaning to say i got poked 2 times!!!

5.4mmoL/L on non-fast.

My housemate's highest record was 19.4mmoL/L and at the average of 12mmoL/L now (on fast).

And my housemate complains that it's not fair that i have a good reading as i have been indulging myself with too much of the sweetening coffee!! Yeah i know it's just the matter of time, i'll keep monitoring :D

But i do have a way to deal with it and my secrets are to compromise on my food intake.

I eat very little rice for dinner, only 2 spoons full, and it's only with mixed grains like brown rice + millet + buckwheat whenever i cook. I avoid white rice like crazy, i don't normally eat breads though i like them, and lot's of plain water or any drinks that is 'Kosong'.

Lots and lots of vegetables, tofu and eggs.

My meat intake is minimal, and i wanted to convert to be a vegetarian, but mom wouldn't permit, so i am kinda like a semi-vegetarian now.

It's not me being vain wanting to keep my body figure, it's for animal welfare that i am heavily under the influence of PETA.

I am not that sane in a way that i feel the animals whenever i chew on them, i guess it's a calling.

My Islamic friend once told me should i feel for the animals, than i can't eat them for food.

I don't know why?

My Buddhist friend told me it's destined that i am to be a vegetarian since i have sympathy for the livings, the four legged or anything that breaths.

I must be a cow or a cat or an animal in my past life?

LOL, what an animal i am!

They Knew, It's Animal Instincts

I have not been blogging a lot lately, let alone blog hopping, reading, for the past 1 week as I'm caught up with everything that's coming from a little here and there.

It's my housemate's admission to begin with, then his gf's visit, then juggling between a job and a career, felt sick a little, then house errands, etc. In short, I am in a mess right now, with tons of paperwork and overdue quotations to be done.

The last thing I need right now is a reminder from my accountant to remind me of my income tax submission for Borang B.

My biggest nightmare of income tax submission is the 'sticking' part.

Sticking as in I have to glue all receipts from Jan-Dec in order, category by category, ranging from petrol to toll to phone bills to entertainments to many many more. By the month, with monthly total, then adding up to grand total!!! It's like RM1 + RM0.60 + RM2.20 + RM0.50 + RM5.40 for the whole freaking year? YES, AT THE VERY LAST MIN AS I NEVER LEARNED MY LESSON. And my receipts are all over the house, office, some drawers, don't know exactly which 1, missing telephone bills, etc. Yes I'm this messy!

The sickening of the sickening is I then have to FORCE out the generous 'contribution' amount to the Gov and to wonder which Tarmac of road I actually contributed? Or it didn't go to the Tarmac? God knows.

ANYWAY, I AM OFF TOPIC AGAIN! It's not a rant post! It's supposingly a happy merry cherry post after much ordeal I'm put through. Can't help it, just being a CazzyCazz here, or the 'going bananas' hormones talking. Ok back to topic *now only?*

I never did know how animal instincts work, but somehow it works and it exists.

I thought I wanted to park my car a little further for a change than my usual given lot. My kids, I don't know how they knew, it seems could just smell or heard me miles away. I parked kinda far away from my block, and my kids came storming out one by one and chasing after me! Ok to be precise, it's wasn't me that they were running after, it was their kibbles :)

Breaking The Record The Bad Way

It all started in last Nov when i discovered the shared toilet bowl in my house tend to have some bubbles formation on the water surface after flashing. As a suspicious cat at home, i traced my way and only to find all evidences pointing to my housemate.

I gotten kinda concerned and started googling for an answer, found out some information stated it's due to excessive proteins in the urine. Again, worried for him, i then started contacting Dr. Wan to seek for his advice. Of course nothing can be diagnosed unless a blood test is being carried out.

It was from last Nov, i have been pestering my housemate to go for a body check up. He agreed but procrastinated it. Considering knowing him for 15 years and staying with him under 1 roof for the past 4 years, i know it very well this is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. My judgment came from by observing his lifestyle & food intake, and i started keeping an eye on him since then. Each time when he comes back home with a bottle of coke, i would nag and sulk, each time when i caught him having Nasi Lemak for breakfast in the office, i gave him my disapproving face. Each time when he buys back KFC for dinner, i would give him a very fierce stare. But he gotten smart since then, he would do all these behind my back!

It just occurred to me that it's necessary for me to review his current life insurance policy, medical card coverage without further ado. I did and gotten him to pick up another plan for higher coverage on medical card and also with the intention for him to enjoy higher tax relief.

We have known each other for more than 15 years.

He has always been like an elder brother to me,

guarding & looking out for me when i was a troubled teenage girl.

We are like a family member by now.

Finally it came the time for his blood test on the 9th of April, i brought him to Dr. Wan's clinic.

My housemate meeting the friendly and cheerful Dr. Wan, then proceeded with his blood test.

*the blood drawing part was rather challenging, will provide the link to the related post for my housemate's diagnosis on Dr. Wan's blog*

2 days after his blood test was done, Dr. Wan rang me up, he sounded really worried and concerned over blood test report he received back from the lab. Most of the readings shown are kinda off the cart, which is alarming and Dr. Wan insisted for another round of blood test just to be sure. But the protein and glucose reading from his urine sample are really high and bad, which it can't go wrong.

Dr. Wan called me a few times to explain to me in details, making sure that i am aware of what is the worst scenario might be and also to make sure i bring my housemate back for another round of blood test asap. His prediction is Pancreatitis, which is a bad thing.

Like a nagging old lady, i went scolding and nagging my housemate and told him to watch what he eats from now on and another blood test asap when he returns from his short holiday with his gf in BKK. So the date was set on 24th April.

But the sad thing is, it didn't take too long for the worst nightmare to happen, just shortly after he returned from BKK. On last Thursday morning (21st April), i found my housemate vomiting in the toilet and he told me he have had gastric again. Well, he has been having gastric pretty often and it didn't concern me too much as he has all the medications needed in his room. He has been admitted for gastric for at least 2-3 times already, so i suppose he knows better than me, it was 'just another gastric' to me again at that point of time.

Only in the afternoon after my visit to Low Yat, i felt really uneasy. Dr. Wan's warning of the possibility of Pancreatitis which is serious and will also cause sudden death kept lingering in my mind. Immediately i gave him a call on his handphone, but no response. I called again and again, for many times but failed to get him on the line. Then i started to panic and started calling my BFF WeeWee & also Dr. Wan. At that time, i was actually rushing back from KL, beating the jam to my office for a management meeting, then another meeting in the evening at 7.30pm. After talking to the both of them, i decided to drop everything and to rush home to check on him.

Rushed home and found him to be only semi conscious.

Dr. Wan adviced me not to delay and to call the ambulance asap as there is no way i could lift a man at the weight of 80KG??

But i managed to get him to get up and dragged him into my car and rushed my way to Sunway Medical.

Why Sunway Medical Center? Because all his previous 3 admissions were with them so they have all his previous medical records.

Dr. Wan, being helpful and efficient here, by the time i reached the Emergency and Accident, he has already faxed over my housemate's medical report and a letter to the attending doctor. A nurse came out to us with my housemate's name and records in her hand and assisted us the way to the ward without having me to repeat the incident much.

After he was being attended, i went to check him in for admission.

I needed something to soothe myself, very randomly i picked Rocky.

My multiple roles-

A god-sis cum housemate cum insurance agent cum colleagues cum friend cum guarantor.

The ~~hotel~~ room rates.

Wanted to get him a single bedded room for RM268 per night, but it was all full, so i settled for a double bedded and request for an upgrade when available.

After the admission was done with his insurance letter of guarantee out, i rushed back to him at the emergency. Nothing about him shown good signs.

He vomited a again.

His BP was kinda high, and before i left him and went home, his last BP taken was 158/110 & glucose reading of 19.4!!! Freaking high!

I was completely worn out by then.

It felt like i was thrown in the battle field to fight.

Dav bought me my fav Starbucks Cappuccino to soothe me while we were waiting for nurse to transfer my housemate into his room, very thoughtful of Dav :)

It was a long wait, we waited more than 1 after the insurance approval!!

The following day, i woke up as early as 6.30am and reached the hospital by 8am with the hope to catch his attending doctor. But i missed his visit when i went to buy breakfast. But according to my hosuemate, his blood test report came out a mess, so another blood sample had been taken again and followed by a CT abdo.

I waited and waited from early morning until late afternoon still i couldn't get hold of the specialist with updates on my housemate's case. My colleagues, my housemate's GF (from Penang) the whole world have been calling me to ask on him which i could not answer.

Thanks to Dr. Wan, he has been following up with me closely on my housemate's case and decided to help me to call his attending doctor for his diagnosis

(i was losing my patient and panic sicked already by then).

Both doctors spoke on the phone and exchanging views, and Dr. Wan was right, it is Pancreatitis!! And some other complications!!

Again, you may refer to here for the diagnosis in details.

My housemate is now stable, but will not be discharged so soon, it's going to be a lengthy stay this time round. But he is fully covered by Prudential, so medical bill is not a concern at all. My only regret is, i didn't get him to buy enough coverage on life and also for critical illnesses due to budget constrain. As he is now a diabetic, he can never, ever, buy any life insurance policy anymore.

I would like to take this opportunity to get below messages across:-

1. Conduct a yearly medical check-up promptly and also pap smear (for ladies lah of course)

2. We are what we eat, watch what you are eating and do not take your own health for granted.

3. Review your insurance policy on a yearly basis, please make sure to top-up your policy to cater to today's standard of living, and most importantly, a medical coverage which can withstand the medical inflation hike!!! Contact your agent now.

4. Please buy more insurance coverage when we least needed it, it's only when we don't need it, we are fit for it. In my housemate's case, it's too late now. But not to worry for him as i have already gotten him a very good coverage on medical card which is enough to cater to him until at the age of 70.

Lastly, i would like to thank Dr. Wan for his assistance and help throughout the whole ordeal, he is a brilliant doctor! A doctor who is not money oriented, but putting his patient interest and benefit 1st than anything else. A good doctor like him is hard to come by nowadays.

Thanks Dr. Wan, thank you very much, it's because of you, my housemate is still alive.

If it wasn't for you, i would have taken his so-called 'gastric' lightly and wouldn't have made my trip back home to check on him. It was because of you voicing your concern over his medical report very clearly and in details, i remembered and didn't take this gastric case too lightly.

Once again, thank you very much and you are a gifted doctor with a heart of gold.

Tao Eu Bak Recipe (Braised Pork with Hardboiled Eggs with Soy Sauce)

There are times i need to please both the carnivores at home though myself, a herbivore or maybe a omnivore at times prefer more greens than meat.

Tao Eu Bak is a very common yet popular stewed pork dish which can be found all over the places in Penang. Mostly are home cooked, but it can also be found at most of the economic rice stalls (chap fan stalls). But i am not too sure whether Tao Eu Bak is originated from the Hokkien??

Of course Tau Eu Bak is also available in the Klang Valley, but somehow, it tasted different. Most of the 'chap fan' stalls that sell Tau Eu Bak is kinda watery and lighter in colour and tasted 'flat'. Another type that we have here is the one that available at Bak Kut Teh shops, the dry type without much gravy in it.

I like the Tau Eu Bak to be in between (the Pg & KL type), more gravy, darker & richer. Most importantly is, the aromatic taste of the 5 spice powder! My granny makes super delicious Tau Eu Bak, mine is merely mediocre as compared to my granny's cooking. But anyhow, it's still richer and tastier than the commercial type.

His loves for meat and my love for mushrooms and tofu.

Let's get cooking now!

Ingredients
500-600g of pork belly
5-8 dried mushrooms (soak until soft and halves)
2-3 bean curds / hard tofu (cut into half)
4 hard boiled eggs (to shell)
2 cinnamon sticks
1 star anise
10 cloves
1 tsp 5 spice powder
2 tbsp dark soy sauce (thick caramel sauce)
1/3 cup of light soy sauce
2-3 whole garlic (smash to break the skin and garlic a little, without having to remove it)
1 tbsp white pepper (crack/smash with spoon the peppers to release its aroma better)
1L of water
1 tsp or a small piece of rock sugar
Salt to taste

Method
- Marinade pork with 2 tbsp of dark soy sauce, 1 tsp of 5 spice, 1 tbsp of light soy sauce (the longer the better, if time permits, at least for an hour, else 30mins)
- Heat pan/wok in medium heat, place the whole chunk of pork belly and to pan fry each side for a few mins. Keep flipping from side-to-side to prevent it from sticking on the pan.
- Add some water into the bowl that is used to marinade the meat to dissolve the remaining dark soy sauce and pour into the pan and pour in the remaining of the 1L of water.
- Add in star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves, garlic, white pepper, tofu, eggs, 1/3 cup light soy sauce and mushrooms to simmer in medium heat. (basically everything except for the rock sugar)

- Simmer for 20mins, take out the chunk of pork and cut into thick pieces and put in back into the pan to continue to simmer until meat is tender.
- Add in rock sugar and salt to taste.

The main reason why i love this dish, it's my love for mushrooms.

Throw all ingredients in and let it simmer for 20mins.

(i forgot the eggs!! Added in only nearing the end of cooking *sweat*)

Make sure to crash it.

You may add in more garlic & white pepper if you prefer stronger aroma.

I actually put in 3 tbsp of white peppers instead of 1 tbsp as proposed.

Remove the pork belly from pan and cut into big pieces and throw it back into the pan and continue to simmer until it's tender.

I like it with lots of gravy and darker.

Simmer until the meat is tender or to the way that you prefer, add in rock sugar and some salt to taste.

It's done!!

It's a sinful meal for dinner, but to please my carnivore,

once awhile i have to bribe him with fatty dishes.

I would normally stew a big pot of dish whenever i am cooking my dinner.

I hate eating out for lunch at my office area as i am really sick of the food by now after 4 years of eating almost the same food everyday.

The balance of the dish would go into my lunchbox for the following day, normally to share with my colleagues.

It tasted even better after leaving it overnight.

TIPS:

Please do not discard the remaining gravy at the end of the dish.

My secret is, i use the gravy to cook my rice grains

(ok not really rice, it's millet, brown rice & buckwheat mixed)

Instead of using plain water to cook your white rice, use the gravy instead, you are gonna love it!

It turns out smelling and tasting a little like 'bak chang' Chinese dumplings.

Oreo Cheese Steamed Cake - The Cooking Failure

When A Cake Turns Kuih

It was rather embarrassing when i handed my housemate the freshly steamed cake, the so-called 'Oreo Cheese Steamed Cake' and he asked, 'Har? Is this a cake or kuih?'

LOL, i almost died laughing, or at least to the extend of laughing my head off and rolling on the floor!!

This is gonna be labeled under the newly added 'Cooking Failures'!!! Gosh, the so-called cake did taste like kuih instead!!!

I bought a Y3K Recipes magazine few days ago and i thought i wanted to try out some of the steamed cake recipes.

Besides cakes, there are also many other cooking recipes

Then i found this interesting!

I have most of the ingredients, except for the Hong Kong Flour (wth?)

Then i asked the baking shop owner and he told me it's a better quality flour which makes the cake looking whiter then the normal baking flour.

??????????????????????

But the owner told me i could also try using the normal flour if i want.

Since i still have a few bags of flour left,

i thought i should try to use it instead of buying more flours.

Every excitedly i headed to my mini kitchen to mess around with this new recipe.

I have made steamed cheesecake a couple of times, and it was all success and good.

But i really didn't expect this cake turned out to be KUIH????

My cooking failure...

(Btw, instead of using the square aluminum pan, i used the round one for cupcakes instead)

It's didn't rise perfectly, and it's definitely too moist for a cake texture!

Ok, i definitely missed out the important tips given.

I didn't use gas stove to steam but an electrical steamer where i do not have the control over the heat or temperature.

I actually missed the tips, else i would use gas stove instead.

My mistake No.2

I cockeye and thought i saw the steaming time is 35mins!!!

My mistake No.3

The steamer is kinda small and hot which has caused the steams to drip down on the surface of the cake. It came out wet like KUIH!!!

Instead of folding the crushed Orea into the mixture, i used hand mixer instead!!

Again, a cockeye case here.

Maybe i really got to use the Hong Kong flour?

Why ler? Malaysia flour cannot meh???

Ya, completely defeated tonight.

Ya, darn cockeye man tonight!

How could i misread so many details one???

Measured everything as requested and followed instruction thoroughly

(at least up to here i did)

Am supposed to fold in the Orea, but i am not too sure whether by mixing with a hand mixer will affect the cake?

Then came the steaming heat & water droplets issues.

The water droplets from the steamer cover wet the top of the cake and it turned the 'Kuih-like' texture.

Oh well, i can still cheat my way through, i just have to tell people that it's a 'Cheese Kuih', that will do the trick!!

The taste is okay, but don't know why it doesn't taste cheesy nor Oreo.

Hehehe, this is rather embarrassing, isn't it?

It's alright, i am gonna try it again, by using the Hong Kong Flour & gas stove to steam!!!

Hopefully it turns out well the next round!

Jabchae, Korean Fried Glass Noodles Recipe

Being a hardcore fan of Korean food, dining in Korean restaurants has now becoming one of our regular outing for the past years. Not only with Dav's parents, we have even gotten my parents into liking Korean food. Dad loves all the raw vegetables and mom loves the chili paste and most of the dishes.

However, Jabchae remains as the only dish on the menu that i would not order, in fact i have not tried it in any of the Korean restaurants before.

Dav used to work as a part-time waiter back in the 90s when he was a college student in Ipoh, that was way before Korean food became a big hit in Malaysia. He has developed a fussy taste bud for Korean food, as he has always claim that the restaurant he worked for was the most authentic and best so far.

Numerous times he has suggested me to try out Jabchae in the restaurant and i turned down his suggestion always. Simply because i tend to stick to the same food all the time, i love Bulgogi (stewed beef with glass noodles) or Kimchi Jigae. Secondly, Jabchae doesn't come cheap, a plate of simple & plain looking dish like this cost nothing less than RM30!!

I mean c'mon, it's a just plate of stir fried glass noodles, how difficult can the preparation be? And paying RM30 for a plate of plain looking dish? Might as well i go for Bulgogi? At least it's beef and definitely worth paying RM25 for a portion instead? Furthermore, a plate of delicious local fried glass noodles is less than RM10 for a cafe price only ok? Why pay RM30??

I discovered there is a Jabchae recipe given out at the back CJ Glass Noodles package.

After studying through the ingredients and recipe, i found out it's really nothing expensive nor difficult to make. But why RM30 per plate in the restaurant? I have no clue.

I thought i should try out the dish following the recipe given and find out myself.

When i thought this would make a fast and simple dish for tonight's dinner, i was so completely wrong, it required more work and preparation then expected!! Especially one intend to cook and snap pictures at the some time!! I found my answer to it why it's costly, let's get cooking now shall we?

Ingredients (servings for 4)

Korean Glass Noodles 250ga
Beef or pork thinly sliced 150g
Carrot 100g (sliced)
Spinach 100g
Sliced onions 100g
5 dried shiitake mushrooms
(i used dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked until soften)
Sugar
Salt
Black pepper power 1 tsp
Soy Sauce
Toasted Sesame Oil (Korean type? I don't know, i used the normal local sesame oil)
1 Egg
Soybean Oil (I used olive oil)

Method

The Meat (To marinade)
Marinade meat with 1.5 tbsp soy sauce, 6 tsp sugar, 1 tsp chopped garlic, 1 tsp black pepper powder & 1 tsp toasted sesame oil. Set aside for 30mins to marinade

The Spinach
Parboil spinach in boiling water, wash with cold water and squeeze out excess water.
Then, season with a few pinch of salt and 1 tsp of toasted sesame oil.
Set aside for later use.

The Glass Noodles

To make the noodle even more tastier and if time permits, follow below instructions.
- soak noodles in cold water for 20mins
- when done, boil in boiling water for 5-6 mins and add i tbsp of olive oil
- once cooked, rinse the noodles 2 or 3 times gently in running cold water
- drain noodles and add in 1.5 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tsp toasted sesame oil and mix well.

The Egg

- Separate egg white and egg yolk (beaten)
- pan-fry separately like crepe (thin layer)
- slice into strips and set aside

To cook
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil and stir-fry marinaded beef or pork with shiitake mushrooms in wok under mid - high heat for 5 mins until it's cooked. (set aside)
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil and stir-fry sliced onions, carrots add salt and white pepper powder to taste. Then add in the pre-cooked beef or pork and stir-fry for another 2 mins. Lastly, add in the marinaded glass noodles and stir up until it's well mixed and serve.

It was actually a mess in preparing the dish as the instructions given are all over the place without a clear guide. It's like from preparing this then jump to that and then come back to this and that! Gosh i had a headache making this dish!! Furthermore there are so many spelling errors!! I am kind enough to restructure the instructions in order so you guys do not to have to cook like a panic chicken :D

Worst of the worst is, most of the dishes are prepared separately and there are so many washing needed and using so many utensils!! The washing part is a nightmare too!!!

I expected this to be something easy like frying our local glass noodles where you just dump everything in, stir like mad and serve in no time. But i was completely wrong! Now i know why it's RM30 per plate!!!!!

Now let's get the pictures to do the talking, shall we?

To marinade the pork to perfection

Mix well and set aside

Once done marinading, stir-fry in pan or wok until it's cook and set aside.

It's really good eating by its own!!

(there are many 'set aside', 'set aside', 'set aside' required and it's driving me crazy!!)

Instead of boiling, i actually steamed the spinach

Dashes of salt to taste and 1 tsp of sesame oil to season and SET ASIDE!!

To separate the white and yolk and to pan fry like crepe

Cut both the fried egg white and fried egg yolk and cut into strips and SET ASIDE!!

(alongside with all the SETTING ASIDE prep ingredients)

Follow the instruction given above in preparing the glass noodles for more springy and chewy texture.

Now, marinade the glass noodles as well with 1.5 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp sugar and 2 tsp toasted sesame oil and SETTING IT ASIDE!!

(Gosh i am getting really annoyed already by now even just by writing this post!!)

Now, finally it's the end of the 'setting aside' and nearing towards the end of the cooking!

Stir-fry sliced onions, carrots and the pre-cooked pork/beef until it's fragrant and add in the egg and spinach and stir-fry for another 2 mins.

Lastly, add in the marinaded glass noodles and stir until it's well mixed, add in salt and pepper to taste and SERVE!!

phewww, FINALLY!!)

Dinner wasn't served until 9pm!!

Dav has been asking 'what's taking so long, what's taking so long?'

IT'S JABCHAE THAT'S TAKING FOREVER MY DEAR!

And he laughed at me and said 'now you know why it's costing RM30 for a dish like this! Would you pay the price for it now?'

YA I WOULD NOW!

Gosh if i knew it's so time consuming in getting this dish done, i wouldn't have gotten too ambitious to attempt on a weekday night! I should have saved it for my weekend cooking instead!

However, after my 1st bite, i then realized that it's worth my time and effort!

The glass noodles is so heavenly springy and QQ!

The meat is really marinated to a great taste.

Oh well, the 'pah-bai' (fussy) Korean taste bud Dav claimed that my own cooked Jabchae is quite close to the original taste. But he finds it's lacking of something, which he couldn't tell what it was. Anyhow, he rated 8 out of 10 for this dish base on the recipe given.
Ok, again, this is not a self-praise ok?
It's the recipe that is doing the wonders and not me!

Maybe it's the toasted sesame oil?

Or the mushrooms that i used?

I have no idea and he insisted that we should try it out someday in the restaurant and i can further improve on this dish.

Now i really don't mind the hassles of preparing this dish anymore, it's really worth every effort and every bite of the glass noodles is really springy.

I am satisfied and he is a happy man with a filled to the max stomach tonight.

My 2-day-old Kimchi,

still in the fermentation process.

But for eating on its own, i like it when it's less fermented as it's sweeter.

If it's for cooking, the more fermented the better!

Oh please by the way, don't go without Kimchi whenever you are having Korean dish,

it's like having fish head noodles without the fish?

It's my improved version of Kimchi,

my 2nd attempt.

I made it more juicy for fermentation as i want it for Kimchi Jigae when it's fully fermented.

My kimchi is a lazy version and kinda mediocre really,

but it's good enough for me to ease the urge for Kimchi to to be used for Kimchi fried rice and Kimchi Jigae.

I didn't use the Korean chili powder for the kimchi but the chili paste instead, that explains why it's less reddish in colour and lack of kick too. Too lazy to actually look for one as i am a lazy bum when it comes to getting into the mall!

Lemon Cheesecake, The Non-baked!

Yeah it's SATURDAY!! I simply love Saturdays as it's my lazy day when i opt not to work. It's the day that i will normally be laming at home, spending time doing things that would make me happy ^_______________^

This Saturday, it's a particular Sat which i didn't have any plans or anywhere to rush or anything to attend to, therefore i decided to crochet a little then proceeded to my little kitchen for a little messing and fun.

Not having an oven or the right utensils at home doesn't stop me from making cakes on the occasional basis. There are many recipes which requires non-baked for cakes, and cheesecake is one of them. I have made my favourite steamed cheesecake a few rounds (without recipe in my previous post), but today i have decided to make the non-baked type instead.

I am not a person with sweet tooth nor a fan of desserts and cakes, but i simply love making them and 'forcing' people around me to swallow it, be it good or bad :D

As much as i love cheeses, My stomach can't tolerate cheesy meals, especially spaghetti carbonara or a little of cheesecake, i will normally ended throwing up or feeling dizzy after the meal. I don't know why, i guess my stomach is too weak for a creamy meal? Nevertheless, it never stops me from making or cooking them, as i really do enjoy the process of making it.

The non-baked Lemon Cheesecake

Recipe adapted from San's Blessed Moments with slight modification only.

The recipe i have it's for the normal traditional plain cheesecake, i decided to try out the adapted recipe, which is more tangy (lemon & zest) with the hope that my stomach could tolerate better.

(i don't have a digestive system made for dairy products,

due to my upbringings by mom. We were restricted from taking too much of dairy products).

Let's get started shall we?

The Base

150g digestive biscuits/ Marie Biscuits (basically any biscuits you like or have, can also add in cornflakes)

75g butter

Cheese fillings

200ml whipping cream

250g cream cheese

90g caster sugar

10g gelatin

40ml water

3 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

Lemon zests from 1 1/2 medium sized lemon

*It's for the size of 8-inch round baking pan, please use the loose-bottom pan for easy removal of the cake with smooth and perfect rounding edge for the side. In my case, i don't have 1 so i used the normal pan*

Method (The Base)

1. Crushed biscuit until it's fine or to the texture of your own preference with food processor.

(I don't have a food processor therefore i placed in a plastic bag and using a big glass bottle to roll over it)

2. Melt butter and pour in to mix with the crushed biscuits.
3. Place the mixture into the baking pan and press firmly.
4. To refrigerate for at least 30mins and proceed to the cheese preparation.

Cheese Fillings

1. Mix gelatin with 40ml of water in a bowl for 3mins, no stirring is required.
2. Double boil the gelatin and stir until it's fully dissolved (about 3min) and set aside.
3. Whisk whipped cream until it's soft and fluffy, set aside.
4. Beat cream cheese with caster sugar in a mixer at medium speed until it's soft and smooth.
5. Add in lemon juice and zest and gradually adding the gelatin until it's well mixed.
6. Foul in the whipped cream gradually and lightly until it's well mixed.
7. Pour in the fillings on the chilled crust base and and to refrigerate overnight or at least for 4-5 hours.

Crushing it the old school method

I seriously do not have enough of storage for another item in my kitchen, so i decided not to purchase a food processor. Just place the biscuits in a plastic bag, preferably a double layer and use anything that you may have in your household to roll over it until it's finely crushed.

It's not super fine, but it's alright.

I then used a spoon to further crush the biscuits by pressing it.

Add in the melted butter and to mix well

I do not have a loose-bottom pan, therefore i used the normal 8-inch round pan with butter paper for easy removal of the cake. As expected, without the loose-bottom pan, the edge of the cake is going to come out unevenly.

To press firmly

Preparing the zest

The method of preparing the gelatin by double boiling over simmering water at medium heat.

Once done, set aside and move on to the whipping cream.

(sorry i inserted the wrong picture for the last pix :D)

In a mixing bow, whisk whipping cream until it's soft and fluffy.

Until you get this soft peak and set aside and move on to the cream cheese

In a mixer, beat castor sugar and cream cheese at medium speed (i used speed no.2) until soft and smooth. Add in lemon juice and zest, follow up the dissolved gelatin gradually

(it's alright if the gelatin is still slightly warm)

Foul in the whipping cream into cream cheese mixture and pour on the chilled base.

Refrigerate it overnight, but i impatiently took it out from the fridge after 4 hours, eagerly wanted to taste it out!

Though the rounding edge isn't perfect, but it doesn't discount on the taste :D

Well in this case, look doesn't really matter here as it's not for commercial, and it's my 1st attempt and lastly it's going to be 'processed' for 'dumping' sooner or later.

Never mind my disgusting humour and excuse me for that.

It was 11.30pm when i indulged in this piece of cake

Sorry for my lack of motivation in coming up with better pictures at this point of time,

i was too lazy to play with my camera.

It's really soft & creamy, tangy and not too sweet,

just the way i like of a cheesecake.

At this point of time, after a few bites,
i was feeling really bad and guilty already.

I mean, cheesecake at 11.30pm???
Crazy!!!

There you go, this is one simple and easy cheesecake recipe that one could find.

My next attempt would be making the cheesecake with Korean Citron Honey Tea (Yujacha), hopefully it turns out good :)

Homecook Kimchi Jigae

I thought tonight i should really force myself to put down my crochet hook and at least to blog a little as i have been neglecting my blog for quite sometimes. I have been really into my crochet works and currently working on a piece of scarf for baby bro, 1 for myself and also crocheting a handbag too. I have been cooking, just that i am too lazy to edit the pictures and blog :D

It wasn't until i met Dav 5 years ago when he introduced me to the variety of Korean food. I didn't develop the love for Korean food out of the famous Korean dramas (mom did) as i hardly have time to sit down for a complete series in front of the screen (so sad). Not that i don't like watching series, often time i feel 'guilty' should i spend my time chasing after dramas and neglecting my work and career. *mental illness*

Since my 1st bite of Korean food 5 years ago with Dav and a friend (before our courtship), i fell madly in love with it. It's now our regular food, on the top of the list always, whenever we are eating out on weekends, sometimes even on weekdays.

Today Dav told me he felt like eating his all time favourite Kimchi Jigae soup and proposed to go to our favourite Korean restaurant nearby our house (Seoul Palace in USJ19). Then i remembered reading Kyspeaks blog, which he has recently cooked this dish with his recipe posted.

I quickly ran through a check-list on my head and discovered that i have most of the ingredients needed, except for the Miso paste. I then told Dav i could attempt to cook Kimchi Jigae since it's already mid of the month (nearing broke) *ahem ahem* so we could save up a little (TOMORROW IS PC FAIR!!). Went to buy the Miso paste from the organic shop which i frequent and started messing in my own tiny little kitchen.

My own made Kimchi!!

It was a success, but need another attempt to cater to my own preference.

Will share out the recipe when i finally get the taste that i love.

RECIPE ADAPTED FROM KYSPEAKS,

CLICK HERE FOR THE RECIPE.

I added the glass noodles and also some extra Korean chili paste and rock sugar to cater to my own taste bud.

It's really easy to make this dish, and fast too!

All ingredients i used are Korean goods,

except for the tofu, onions, spring onions and garlic of course.

The Kimchi that i used.

380g is enough for 4-5 servings.

I used only 300g pork belly.

It's not too bad,

but not spicy and fermented enough for my liking and too sourly too!

Forget about using the local glass noodles, it will never taste the same.

Not only that, i will break easily and also soaking up the soup in no time!

I love love love eating glass noodles,

but only the Thai & Korean type so far.

Whenever i go to Thailand, i am sure to come back with tons of Thai glass noodles and 'Sen Lek'

(Sen Lek is the pad Thail type of flat & slim noodles)

(glass noodle in Thai is called Woon Sen)

Bought it for RM11++ per pack, can't quite remember.

It's fat and chewy, YUMMILICIOUS!

Using organic 5 grains Miso, only RM16.80.

Since i still have many seaweeds with me, i guess Miso soup is next :)

I also added in 3 tablespoons of Korean chili paste for spicier and richer colour

(the water diluted the Kimchi so it looks kinda orangie rather than reddish)

Just follow the cooking method given in Kyspeaks.

The house is smelling really good already.

This kimchi is a bit too sour, so i added in some rock sugar to neutralize the taste.

It turned out much better with the rock sugar added in.

After dinner

A Korean meal isn't complete with their famous Soju or the Rice wine!

Soju is too strong for my liking, like liquor and i dislike hard liquor!

But the Korean rice wine tastes like our local 'Tapai', which is my all time fav!!!!

I am sipping on the rice wine while writing this post, no worries, i ain't drunk :D

Though i do not really drink, but my alcohol tolerance level is quite high, i guess i inherited it from dad!

I am definitely going to cook this dish again.

Without going to the Korean restaurant tonight, we actually save up a lot (easily RM60?) and i do not have to crack my head thinking of what to eat for lunch on tomorrow.

I realize i have too many overdue cooking posts to post!!!!

Everyone Is Flying off But Me!!

Dav has finally returned home a happy man from his 8 days trip to Prague. Part work & part holiday, all paid by company, what else can one ask for more?

It was Turkey last year, then Prague this year, and might be Scotland for next year!!

I'm feeling so left out!! Dav returned today and my parents taking off to Bangkok today then again taking off from BKK to Europe for a tour on 14th April for 10 days! Covering Italy, Monaco, Spain and.... *I forgot*.......

I knitted 1 scarf for mom,

and of course I won't allow my King Edward going off without getting 1 from me too?

I love them equally!

It was a marathon knitting which I completed this piece in just 8 hours!!

7 skeins of yarn is used for this piece and it feels like it's never ending of knitting!!

Naked No More, My Kindle 3

Today it's the day, that my Kindle 3 being naked no more!!!

I went looking for a cover or case for my Kindle the moment i received it. It's not possible to buy it off the shelf like the iPad casing, as Kindle is not 'officially' available for sale in Malaysia. Not even possible to buy Kindle online from Amazon then to ship it to Malaysia for don't know what reason (piracy issue? Actually possible, with too much of troubles to re-route the shipment)

I found someone selling the casing in Low Yat Forum and was thrilled until i received the picture from the seller. A very boring & normal looking case that cost up to RM80, i mean the price is ok, but the cover is sooooo boring looking, soooooo not ME, my style and liking :(

Then i went checking out on Amazon online store, it has plenty to offer, from cute to sexy to hot looking covers! I drooled over it and wanted to buy so many of them! But each cover costing up to almost USD60!!??? I couldn't justify the purchase, as the too-good-to-be-true reader is only at the price of USD139, but a case at USD60???

I have always been an impatient person who doesn't like hassel and trouble, so i always ended up paying generously to save time and trouble for things that i need. My new resolution is to be a smarter consumer and not to waste too much of the small amounts which i could possibly save, that adding up to be a lot right? I checked out ebay instead, and..........

My 'Smart' Mom

Good, mom has finally got rid of her 'impossible' LG Optimus One after much persuasion from me and baby bro today! The phone was bought just a couple of weeks ago at RM820 as her birthday gift by me and baby bro.

Today dad sold it off at RM500 with RM320 of losses and we top-up the balance for her to get a HTC Wire Fire instead.

Her Birthday on the 27th March :)

Besides the smart phone, I have also given her another birthday gift ^___^

Nicely wrapped up with a small 'cat' card with my love message to her.

*I know you guys are not surprised it's a card with a cat picture*

Wrapped it up nicely and my housemate to transport it to Penang just in time for her birthday ;)

It's a scarf I knitted for her Europe trip!!

Glad that she loves it :)

Bought the yarn from HK, it's so cheap and nice!!

Since I'm going to HK this Oct, I'm gonna load up my bag with yarns!!

Buying yarns in Malaysia is JUST TOO EXPENSIVE.

It was a little rush for me to finish off before my housemate left for Penang!!

But I made it :D

Keeping her warm in cooler country....

So she thinks of me all the time and remembering to buy me GIFTS!!

It's okay, as the Optimus One is forever having problem connecting to Nimbuzz app and it really did defeat the purpose of going 'smart' and staying connected to chat with her children.

Just 10mins ago with dad sending me this picture via Whatsapp using his new HTC Desire.

Geez, my parents are getting really smart with apps and technology already nowadays!

Well, learning is a lifelong process, who says the older generation shouldn't go 'smart' and learn to be smarter??

My parents have definitely proven the point wrong!

The Fun 'TalkBox' iPhone App

With more and more people getting 'smart' (smart phones) nowadays, phones are no longer just a phone anymore.

The market has proven to be really encouraging for both the iPhone and Android, in fact Android has now surged pass Symbian and beating them flat in no time. Not too sure what the future holds for RIM BB and MS Wins mobiles?

Even my parents have gotten 'smart' last month. Dad has gotten himself a HTC Desire (told him we would top-up for him to get an iPhone but he refused) and both me and baby bro have gotten mom a LG Optimus (regretted her choice now), but soon to switch hers to HTC Wild Fire. Both me and baby bro are using iPhone 4 and we both love our phones to bits.

Reason why my whole family has gotten 'smart' simply because we are all living apart from each other now. My parents are in Penang, CazzyCazz has been away from home for more than a decade setting her roots in KL, and now with her baby bro residing in Singapore since Feb this year. Getting 'smart' is the way of connecting all of us as tied & closed as possible at a much economical way. (bypassing telco charges).

Since the market has been encouraging, a wide range of application has been developed and it's on-going at the speed of light. With some are good and some are crap, but all these will only spice up the dumb-smart phones.

When i was drooling over iPhone long before it gotten 'too hot' in Malaysia, my colleague has been discouraging me by saying 'aiyah, at the end, IT'S JUST A PHONE to be used to call and send messages nia, trust me, i used an O2 smartphone before and it was rubbish'.

Fine, i couldn't afford 1 back then, until i got an attractive package from Maxis and i have proven him WRONG and guess what? HE HAS RECENTLY GOTTEN HIMSELF AN IPHONE TOO! Boooooo to QPK!! Hahahhaha.....

My BFF WeeWee has been pestering me to download TalkBox (free app) for iPhone for weeks but i have been procrastinating it.

I am heavily relying on Whatsapp for messaging and also Nimbuzz text or call my dad and relatives (all using Android) and Viber call with my baby bro, Dav when he is out of the country and BFF Wendy occasionally. Since i have an unlimited data plan, WHY NOT??

My 1st attempt on trying out TalkBox with WeeWee

and now i would definitely text lesser but to talk more!!!

it's gonna be so 'yesterday' already.

Viber calling baby bro and Wendy in Singapore can be quite bad, especially when they are on 3G, as 3G network in SG is kinda.....BAD.........
